I started it and right off the bat I'm loving the fact that they have the typically described 'ruthless' general actually being ruthless. He definitely goes hard. Nice change of pace.

About QQ and QM, I didn't mind. I could have inferred what went on there. But as you said, the plot of 16 yrs ago left too many questions for me. But I still enjoyed the drama overall.

Ok finished it . Think its a bit unfair that Wei Yan got the majority of the blame when the late emperor was the one pulling all the strings.

Just watched the scene of Wei Yan telling Tutor Tao about what happened 16 years ago. But I'm not sure I understood the part about Qi Rongying being pregnant. Did the emperor fake her pregnancy so he could have her killed? And did he frame Wei Yan with the palace maid to get her to stop loving Wei Yan? Also, did the emperor deliberately bring her into the harem to spite Wei Yan? And who is the 16th prince that the emperor was favouring over Crown Prince Chengde? I don't remember hearing about him before this ep.
