Ha ha! So you really are a newbie like your name implies! You're right that there are an infinite amount of series and more get released all the time. I won't bother to recommend any to you because I'm sure you can find them on your own but I feel like for me that once I realized the type of series I preferred, it made it easier to shorten my "plan to watch" list to just keep the series I think I'll enjoy.
