I found this surprisingly good. A random conversation about BLs ended with a friend giving me a list of some hardcore, non-BL titles and of the ones mentioned this one caught my eye because of the reviews and comments here. Yes, all of the tags are correct but those weren't the scenes I couldn't watch (can't say more without spoiling it a bit).
It's definitely not going to be for everyone but the acting alone was phenomenal. I would love to read/see interviews with the two leads because it must have been an intense shoot.

I wasn't thinking mafia but wondered, bizarrely, if it had to do with cigarettes and smoking, like it takes 4 minutes on average to smoke a cigarette. 😄 I'm not keen on "powers out of nowhere" but it's Bible so I'm in!
Not every series is going to appeal to everyone! I've watched some that others loved that I felt was a waste of my time, so no reason that we all need to see the same good or bad things in every series. Some of us here enjoyed the unhinged chaos and the fact that they tried making something different. Was every aspect of it great? Obviously not, but that's ok.
