The school couple dying was very unnecessary, just like you said. I think that would be much more interesting to let them survive in the end because it would be more unexpected than expected, in my opinion.
If they managed to survive in the end I would be "ohh.. so they really made until the end!" instead of "obviously they would die" (and they died in a pretty stupid way). =/ author-san... why... =/ hehe
This can be everything except a happy ending =/ I would say it's a bittersweet ending. Sincerely, I thought it wasn't a fullfilling ending... in my opinion.
Anyway, mixed feelings about it since the outcome for some matters were somewhat vague. (though at least they didn't leave you without any direction). If you're a dead fan of yuri you should be cautions, because some things might bother you since there are het scenes (and on top of that they are the majority in this movie, to be true). Just to let you know, the boys in this movie are good boys... so it may not bother you, the het scenes, that is.

Good that looks like the abuse was just about episode 01 (though it happens in other ways from time to time), however, the same pattern over and over made things boring, also the episodes were boring for themselves. Dropped after watching episode 03.

This sounded to me more like a sad ending than a bittersweet one.
Also, Toma's fight was a little bit disappointing, and he dying was very anti-climatic. Plus, Ichi showed much better swordsmanship skill throughout the movie than both of those 2 in the last fight. So she losing to that guy in their first fight was a little bit inconsistent.
Oh, and the way Toma's mother got blind.... I thought I would see something like that just in animes... lol
Loved Ichi's (Ayase Haruka) acting, but unfortunately, for me, the movie started to get a little bit disappointing in general at the last 3/3 part, and I confess that that ending strengthen my frustration.
