Tbh the way Mudeoks soul was talking in the mirror ..she desires something else only. Something more powerful than Naksu's revenge or Jin family story.
I believe Mudeoks soul is craving for a body and power where she can take over the place, that's why there will some change in Mudeoks behaviour. Mudeoks soul will seduce SeoYul & Crown prince. Get them mad for her, and then she will overpower them all.
But since Naksu's soul might be there somewhere in Mudeoks body, JangUk will be the only one who can control her and bring her to normal. And for this JangUk needs to figure it out before it's too late!

We all know Naksu & Jin daughter are the same soul, and living in Mudeoks body.
What if Jin's eldest daughter and King's Son Jang Uk were born on the same day. So the divination was about the king's star power given to child born on that day was true?
Jin's family was worried about this and decided to hide away the soul of their eldest daughter but the spell rebounded and the daughter was lost?
Jin's family must have hidden this away from Songrim and royal family by tampering with the birth history of their daughter lik how Park Jin & Jang Kang did with Uk?
And it's also possible that kind family wasn't aware about it 😂

Another wildest theory I have come up with. This purely based on my own thought and experience from watching a lot of fiction & Wuxia dramas

Naksu is a small girl in the mage society who lost her family.
Now looking into the Jins family, the eldest daughter is lost
Imagine, if there was someone who performed alchemy of souls on Jins daughter at a very young age which separates her soul and body.
The soul was hidden away for some reason into younger Naksu before Naksu lost her family.
And the body of Jins daughter i.e body of Mudeok became blind and useless due to some mistake while performing alchemy of souls spell, that's why Mudeok was abandoned somewhere without the knowledge of the Jins who still believe she is alive and away somewhere

Mudeoks body welcomes Naksu's soul because it the very own Jins daughter i.e Mudeoks soul
