Was this somehow related to kidnapper's family, maybe someone died/could not survive and Kang was the doctor incharge and detective involved, kidnapper caused deadly accident of Hayun their daughter, and also killed the detective's wife maybe coz detective was involved in this hospital death case. Hence kidnapper targeted these couples and now ruining their reputation and also wants to kill Seyun. Kidnapper's doesn't want the cash. He's not satisfied with any amount but likes the men suffer gets thrilled to see their helplessness and how far they go for their family. This kinda plot in many kdramas. So yeah. In the end it's like kidnapper's goal is to finish off those involved in harming his family.
