Cop or spy role and I also wish to see him as a smart doctor in a modern, probably a forensic solving mysterious crime cases.
Idk but I don't like this ending. I wished Prince Ning was executed! I wish they followed the novel for Liu character.…
I haven't read the novel but it would have been an interesting twist to the story if Liu Chang had switched sides in S2 and worked for the Emperor and became the righteous Noble that he always wanted to be (even if it meant he would be killed eventually). But the way LC character was written in S1 is that he is too weak to divorce the princess and go against Prince Ning. He is sure to be killed. Would any one give him an iota of respect or a position in office knowing they would be going against Ning?? He has to leave the county and start afresh! So this kind of turning into evil and working for Ning seems acceptable to the plot. Also this is a very female centred series, so these villains adding misery to Mudan and her beau would make it possible to show viewers her growth and success against all odds and of course a lot of empathy, respect and inspiration for ladies in that era which is the core of the story. Redemption arc for LC? Like you said if he were to work for the emperor like in the Novel, the writers would have to give a redemption arc to the Princess as well or kill her instead of LC! As LC divorcing her doesn't seem to make sense at all unless she continues to be evil and harming Mudan even after. S2 is inferior to S1 in writing due to the repetitive plots and misunderstanding trope. But it picks up in the last third and gives a satisfactory end. Miles has done a brilliant job as a villain and so did Yang Zi, Li Xian and all the supporting cast even the extras π

Heartbreaking for Liu character but award-winning for Miles π€ β₯οΈβ₯οΈβ₯οΈ Such a great talent! Seriously, S2 showed off his depths! I pray that his career takes off to new heights now ππ€π€

Have watched 12 eps somewhere else (subs π) and I have to say Miles' acting is top notch as a villain! He doesn't have many scenes but in that screen time he delivers!! Critics and passersby will definitely notice his acting skills but hope he gets noticed by top tier producers and directors for some meaty roles and great opportunities in the future π€
Story/plotline was going fine until the last bit of ep 12 where it took a downhill course π but I guess there is more to it than what it seems! Hopefully it will turn out to be an interesting twist and wrap up giving a satisfying end to the leads and to all the characters.
