Finally the explanation I craved for. And especially from an educational person with a lot reading experience. Because it's another thing liking smth for your own personal reasons and another judging a story by it's format. On the latter, there are some specific and objective reasons someone has to assess a story for.

Although I liked 2HA for my own personal reasons, I still cant accept the unjustness between these two novels. Because I see 2ha above everything compared to SPL. Priest deserves more than this. All this "fake" drama with no actual reason you spoke of was exactly the reason I dislike the plot.

Yeah. And now that you mentioned bone of impurity, Im really curious in what way they will present this issue in the series.

Yes yes! Ive seen that too! And the leaks also confirm those statements. I pray for this romantic content to be as good as the novel. Also Ive faith in both Tan Jian Ci & Zhen Chen Yuan. Many wont expect it but I believe SPL will be a big hit. Cant stand the waiting anymore..

Can't help myself considering Chang Geng who expresses his feelings to GY and get rejected at first, he actually accepts the rejection respecting GY's feelings. Like holy cow! No forcing, no threatening no chasing unlike most of the other danmei.

Ofc every opinion is accepted. For me Chang Geng is a mc finally not idolized by the author, who owns nothing and all he got was hate and beating from his only close relative. That's why the only man who actually showed him care GY became his willpower. To return his love he struggles on becoming capable in order to be able to help GY. On the process he finds himself liking the sociopolitical area and also having ambitions like a normal person.

Havent read or seen Guardian, because I only focus on historical content, but Faraway Wanderers was fine for me not that good compared to SPL, considering this is one of Priest’s earlier works and I can see how much she has involved her writing through the years. Ofc everything depends on personal preference, hope you give SPL a chance.

I also cried over 2HA many times and also read it in a very small amount of time considering its big length. I think I cried way more over 2HA, but many things for me were out of place. Normally having so many fans compared to SPL, Meatbun has done smth better.

It can fairly be compared to regular books and much more. The main focus during the story is the fall and rising of the nation, the ideas of progress, all the scheming and planning behind it. It is based on the Song Dynasty where it's General was doing all he could to protect his country and innocents from invasion while the imperial court just keep backstabbing him out of greed and selfishness. With the mix of steampunk (which is great for me) and some fantasy witchcraft elements. Priest is so well educated on this subject and give us so many details on the sociopolitical area, that independently of the bl content (which is also great for me), the story could be considered epic.

TGCF was my first danmei novel and I literally loved and cried over that story, but when I read SPL I couldnt get over it. Ive already read almost all the popular danmei novels and this one is still my favourite. I know that the story is a bit heavy, but the author is so well educated on the war and political subject that I even loved it along the way (though I never read anything similar). The amount of romance in this novel is as much as its needs to be, every encounter between CG and GY is like a refreshing and pleasant break after the heavy plot. I love both GY and CG (especially GY) and their character analysis and inner thoughts during the story are so well written. Also the way they behave for each other and how they evolve their characters after every argument to be able to continue their relationship (seriously havent seen this in any other novel as far).

And yes, the whole story with the bone of impurity especially in the end, it was a bit absurd, though interesting, but the way I see it is as a fantasy way explaining Chang Cheng's unusual mentally and physical god level power. Some even parallel the bone of impurity and how CG gets over it with how abused children get over their abused memories (when he recall the memories with his stepmother) with a dose of fantasy, and I found it really interesting.
Ofc SPL even without the romance is still a great story! And for some reason watching all those leaks, I believe they will give us a very strong relationship between, only cutting of the improper parts.
As for Immortality, it doesnt have an actual story without the interaction of the 2main characters, the rest of the story is many fantasies combined together with some plot twists considered beforehand. Even their relationship is soo absurd for me in many ways, its like the author deliberately wanted the main character to hate each other for insane reasons too (dont want to spoil further).
I also want SPL to have a great adaption and take the popularity it deserves. It was my pleasure discussing about SPL sorry for the long text haha!

Though I liked 2HA novel, still cant understand why it has so many followers compared to SPL. I know that tastes are subjective, but the Priest's writing, the character development and the way the plot evolves and unfolds cohesively and smartly are so much better than 2HA for me. Maybe because 2HA has more passionate scenes? But the way the story unfolds is sooo confusing and sometimes very tiring and many times it seemed to me like the author added random things on the process. Plz someone explain to me why people love 2HA so much.

From videos and pictures I have seen as far, the two protagonists seem pretty suitable for their roles. Tan Jian Ci have this unparalleled beauty who can flex between humurous and serious character. As for Chen Zhe Yua, he has this serious caring gaze upon yifu (which Ive seen from many pictures so far) that couldn't have made him more qualified for this role. I think they also suit each other and they are both very pretty! I haven't done any search for the rest cast xD

I'm doing the same thing, I can feel your sorrow.. Also shen yi is the friend we all want in our side and yes his struggle is real.

Not in the least, I was just looking for an excuse to express my thoughts because I saw so much hype for Immortality compared to SPL, i guess it has been more advertised haha..Hope both will do fine!

What you said is more likely to happen, but although ive readen both, i expect a way more interesting execution from this series than Immortality, not only because they have to cut so many scenes in order to containt it in 50eps, but also because of the censorship. Compared to SPL, like we have seen in Word of Honnor, they will probably excuse their relationship because of the "father and son" and I expect a very affectionate relationship, plus 46eps are way enough to make up to the novel.

I just want to cry...how many times should i have to reread the novel to keep my memory fresh for the series?
