I edited my post to typical, I hope it is a better way of expression. I just rewatched episode 1. Adachi did express (in his thought) that he would like to marry someone like Fujisawa, but he know that he will not have a chance. I watched the Vietnamese subbed. I tried the other subbed, which has a better translation.

After watching the sp a few times, I have come to a conclusion why Adachi has remained single for seven years. Kurosawa is a jealous and possessive person, so he must maintain a good status to attract all the ladies in the office. I guess no one in the office is interested in man, so Kurosawa doesn’t have worry about them.

Yes, that’s in his thought, and that’s what he think Adachi’s will be. Getting married and having a family, then he can give up his love for Adachi. That’s what society expectation for man.

The reason why Kurosawa didn’t make a move on Adachi for seven years because Adachi is a man. If Adachi is a girl, Kurosawa won’t hesitate for a second.
