Zhao Lusi deserves a lot of credit for her acting, especially the last couple episodes. Just her facial expressions, especially the end there when she's eating the gruel and she gradually starts tearing up. The camera stayed on her for a long time and she played it perfectly.
Su muzhe looked so sad at the end (well obviously she lost him), but so lost. And the ring on her middle finger,…
Exactly. She looked so sad, that's how you know she wasn't just leaving to go traveling with him. If she was, she would have looked much happier.
But it's Kang Ju I really feel bad for. That was his best friend, closer than a brother, who he had known since they were little. They escaped the dungeon together, survived alone in the desert together, spent the rest of their lives together. The show of course focused on Yan Zijing + Su Muzhe, but Zijing's death would hurt Kang Ju even more. What's he gonna do now? That's why I wish we'd seen him there with everyone at the end. At least we'd know he still had someone.
Prediction for the ending: Yan Zijing lives but is permanently blind. Duanwu helps takes care of him, and Zhang Jinran drops by from time to time to hang out.
I wonder how many scenes if any were cut from ep.28. Yunxiu was doing that jade competition but then it never went back to it. We never even saw her finished piece.
I still think Su Muzhe mismanaged Yunxiu, having her be a sales clerk rather than spending her time carving, which what she's obsessed with. She could have used "Jade Guanyin" for marketing, selling exclusive Jade Guanyin-carved jewelry etc. Could have even set Yunxiu up carving in the showroom so customers could watch.
Sending Gaoshou and Yingtao to Guangzhou is... I mean they have 10 days to be able to pay back the songstresses, but just getting to Guangzhou would take way longer than that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love Kang Ju.
The whole cast is great, actually. Xie Keyin as Cui Shijiu is a presence. Tang Xiaotian is killin it as Zhang Jinran. It's nice that the to MLs aren't enemies. It would be exhausting if it it was constant jealous back and forth between them.
The girl is still not getting things right!! Oblivious to past, and even ignorant to the present!!! Just consumed…
That's not really fair. She was reduced to nothing, she had no other options. It was either this or begging. She's doing what she can. She doesn't have the protagonist halo protecting her like Su Muzhe does, there's not someone always swooping in to bail her out.
guys just started watching this and I swear I love the second lead😭 he’s so kind and nice. first time in…
Check out The Ingenious One if you haven't. He has a very similar personality in that one too. That show also has a lot of satisfying scheming by the MC.

I like how they showed Su Muzhe wearing Yan Zijing's ring at the end. Nice way to show what happened.
I don't really like how it all just ended with a bunch of high-fallutin words about the ruler, jewelry business, etc. Who cares.
It hurt seeing how despondent Su Muzhe looked at the end.
Good show .

I think she makes her position pretty clear in ep.29.

可堪回憶當初事,
