Thank @Aryael for explanation. I watched it raw (can't wait for the sub) so I don't understand anything and I haven't read nevel yet. Waiting for Eng sub is so much painful. I quite liked this drama and AB is pretty good as Pingting. This is better than Wei Young.

Ep 4, did Pingting poison herself? Why did she do that?

Don't worry, so many C-drama haters will come soon and rate it 1 without watching. They did it even to Nirvana in Fire which is a masterpiece.

I'm a big fan of historical/wuxia/fantasy C-drama and this one has my fav actress.

I don't think this will get subbed but that can't stop me from watching this.

I don't mind that if the story won't go down. I have watched Indian drama which has 400ep+.

This drama is so awesome. I enjoy the action/tomb hunting so much. The team/pro behind NIF never disappoint me.

If you are looking for mystery/ action/ adventure / fantasy, yes give this movie a try. It really worths watching.

I'm so excited. It seems like, recently, DF has got big budget C-drama. Viki has failed again.

That's because happy ending are generally seen as "for kids" in China, so having a terrible ending is more or less the mark of an "adult drama" vs a kids one. Same things in games as well. Most Chinese RPGs are terrible endings as well.
