Also if you still feel distinct about them then let me give you an example to get more clarity- In S1 we saw that Naksu is really harsh with her words and actions sometimes like when Jang Uk in S1 ep 11 confessed his feelings to her, she rejected him with comparing his love with poison which hurted his feelings. Parallel to this was when in S2 Ep 7 Jang Uk tries to confess his feelings, JBY/Naksu in anger again throws harsh words at him by saying 'Don't show me your face again or else I'll take that stone out of you!'
This is enough to explain that she still have the same personality but a little different from S1.

This has always been a misconception about personality of Naksu/Yeong.
S1 Naksu was burning in the fire of revenge. She was raised as assassin by evil minded Jin Mu for his own purposes while Naksu filled her mind with revenge and never lived the real 'her' or she never got to realize that. If that tragic moment didn't ever happened then S2 Naksu/Yeong is the real her.
S2 tried to show us that Yeong is someone who is mature yet childish, lovable, caring, adorable, foolish in some ways but smart enough to handle particular situations, is someone who can do anything for her loved one.... She is not Jin Bu Yeon, not Naksu but Cho Yeong who would have grown this way if not for her parents death.
Also there was no Jin Bu Yeon it was all along Jin Seol-ran's mind and soul living inside the dead body of JBY. Again JSR's soul was asleep when Yeong recovered, she came back with Yeong's memories. So all along in S2 it was Cho Yeong who we saw.

I don't think so. Since its fiction so they tried to keep it different from the real one. Their costumes and hairstyles are quite different from those in other historical drama also it kind of gives the modern vibes through their hairstyles specially.

The firebird thing is really sometimes absurd like if Hong sisters really wanted to bring that thing into the story then they should have atleast mentioned it in S1 to make a connectivity with S2 and should have explained it little more in S2. It felt as if they didn't really decided that beforehand and suddenly felt like 'Oh!! Let's bring in the firebird' out of nowhere. Also the gwido they brought in was left half unexplained.
Not only this but also in S1 when Bu yeon saved Uk I didn't quite get the reason behind that. Also in the ice stone barrier 1st Mu Deok saw childhood version of Bu Yeon and then the Adult one again the conversation here is still unclear to me.

Well that sorcery was actually performed by Jin mama and as you know she didn't realized that it was all along Jin Seol-ran and not her daughter. Also Seo Yul never got to know that it was Jin Seol-ran and not only him except for Master Lee everyone was unaware of this fact. Again Master Lee is someone who wouldn't dare to utter a single word out of his head even after the whole world would disappear, so how do you expect him to talk over these things with someone😂.
Master Lee and Seo Yul both again chosed to feign ignorance over the fact that its Naksu inside Jin Bu Yeon's body. 🤷‍♂️
