totally, this type of character only worked once with Lee Ha Nee but I think it's because she can pull it off with a balance as you say. she looks calm, then in between and suddenly she overeactes then stops.
as for the writer, chief kim was fun, fiery priest was pushing it and after this if they try another same sense comedy I'll immediately put it as Not Interested

I'm always "hiring" if you want to add your ideas ;p yeah tbh the reason I fell in love with kdramas was the acting, I think there are alot of great actors but most aren't given a chance to show it.
with some I started the world based on an actor, like the spies was built around kim taeri's photoshoot and the fact that she could easily handle herself as a calm, cold and poised person, while the others I had the stories and I "casted" them because they fit that image
I do wish I could build a main story for each of them because they can easily carry the whole drama, but like hospital playlist, there's nothing wrong with more than 1 main lead ;p
this could be mixed well with the vampire hunter theme, like the conflict that separates them is the fact that he's dhampir and he wants revenge on his vampire dad, who also plans to attack people not cuz of politics but cuz he's hungry xD
