Exactly. It's seems to be completely random. Like an act of God such as a storm or a freak accident. This is the whole reason the first chairman started the New Truth, to give meaning to it even though he knew the truth.
That's why I'm wondering if resurrecting the "first sinner" is someone trying to right some wrongs because she didn't actually commit any sin worthy of being dragged to hell like that.
Will she get any compensation for malicious prosecution and false imprisonment? Can she sue for defamation of character and emotional distress?
Liking it so far. It has a good balance of funny and touching. And we can expect some mystery added to that mix.…
Episode 1 Punn was clearly traumatized by that birthday cake. It looks like he was having a PTSD episode. Weir could not have chosen a worst time to confess. And of course that embarrassing experience traumatized Weir. It probably affected his entire life after that both as a playboy and a pastry chef. They both need therapy. I think buying the cafe was a form of self therapy for Punn either consciously or subconsciously to overcome his fear and come to terms with his trauma - not the birthday cake but whatever happened when he was younger.
I don't buy for one second that Weir did not recognize Punn. He must have seen it as a second chance of sorts. He had a cake/pie smashed in his face by the boy he loved. Even though he's now the God of Pastry and the Gay Conqueror he still hasn't gotten over his first love.
Krathing's story and scenes are the most touching so far. From his pure glee at rewarding himself after the fight with a dessert to his heartbreak after learning about his condition and tasting that creme brulee.
