Yeah, I'm assuming when people mention a lack of passion they are talking about in a traditional throwing rose pedals and can't keep your hands off each other type of way. Whereas PatPran seem to do a tug of way play--which is just a different type of intensity really. Playing hard to get for added fun. Having to attempt to hide it can make things more frustrating yet exciting in a way. I think their relationship would be similar even if they could be completely open, however. Just as playful and intense.
I know some didn't particularly like how their relationship was portrayed and I wanted to talk about it. This is mainly my current thoughts and opinions. Feel free to add yours.
Now I wanted to say how I understand why some might have felt a lack of passion and/or romantic moments. Everyone has preferences. It could also be a society thing though. Think about it. Most of the time certain ideas of love are thrown in our face. I feel you can categorize them into two generalizations: sweet with romantic moments or an intense passion. Usually a 'you were and will be the only one for me ever' type of thing. Which isn't technically bad because the story is about this part of the characters lives so it's likely they'd love each other more than anyone else--considering the genre. With that said, there are many types of love which can be just as beautiful and rewarding.
On to my thoughts about their relationship. Personally, I like their playfulness. I do agree there isn't as much romantic passion, but I believe that is just how the characters are in general. They could probably be on the most romantic date in the world and it'd still have a goofy lighthearted element to it. Just look at the final scene before they start running around to all the different areas. It is set up in a romantic fashion--a picnic on the rooftop under the stars with fairy lights and mini candles. The part we saw didn't have a romantic vibe, however. I think it would have felt out of place if it was too lovey dovey and not so playful. Some people don't need or maybe even like the romantic life. Sometimes romance in the traditional sense does nothing for them. They just want to joke around and playfully tease because that's how they connect with the person they care about. It's how they show love--and that's wonderful. Plus, the two do have sentimental moments which could be seen as romantic. It seems like they show that side more with short thoughtful gestures and/or sappy words. If that is what works for them, great. I mean even Pran mentioned something about how they were both too stubborn to just say the truth and have to kind of be forced into it. Thus, it would make sense for them to say sweet or romantic things in a less serious manner or with actions instead. Probably not too often either. I think the best relationships are the ones which don't change the people involved, but allow them to grow together. Why does someone have to act different just because they are dating or even married? Be friends and lovers in a way which works for you.
I guess I only half touched on their relationship specifically. haha
I've always known over there is roughly a 13 to 14 hour difference (depending on the country) and I feel like a lot of activity comes from people on that side of the world. Although, I kind of expected things to calm down sooner. haha
Anyway, I love meeting people from other countries . . . or just people from all walks of life really.
I was going to talk about something (related to Pat/Pran's relationship) which might trigger discussion, but then I realized the comment section tends to get busy when it's closer to sleepy time for me. Hmm I guess remind me later? If you want. haha
You are correct. At the end of the day the story is rather basic. I think what was done to make it a bit unique was done well for the most part, however. Which is probably part of the reason why it was still enjoyable to watch. If their relationship was written and directed badly it wouldn't have been captivating even with amazing chemistry.
Personally, characters are most important for me. I could watch an almost boring plot and still enjoy it if the characters are amazing (and driving the story on their own). Whereas it doesn't matter how great a plot is if I can't connect to the characters in an amazing story. It's actually kind of frustrating when characters ruin what I think would be a great story/plot. I try so hard to deal with the characters and it just never works. haha Anyway, there are definitely times where I have watched something I truly enjoyed just to realize later how overhyped I got in the moment for whatever reason. Thus realizing it wasn't amazing--just purely entertaining. But is that a bad thing? The point of entertainment is in the word itself.
So I'll just ask this . . . do you really feel like the overall score is that low? You did love seeing their relationship and enjoyed the time spent watching. You even rated their acting high. I'm curious as to what is most important to you when watching something. I know not everyone would put the same amount of weight on characters vs story--among other things.

I don't know if I could go back and fairly rate every episode of every show I watched so far. Rating the show itself--sure. I could rate Bad Buddy's episodes though. I did just watch it after all. haha

I just wanted to say . . . the 'He's Coming to Me' kiss was perfect for the situation. Although I think I still wanted more in the moment when I first watched. Actually, even in Bad Buddy I was craving a certain kind of kiss. The one at the very end ended up fulfilling that want. Whereas in 'He's Coming to Me' I felt like I needed another season in general. I wanted to know what happens after. Is that too much to ask? Why am I talking about that in this comment section? Sorry. Haha
