Uhm, question. How can the power of the ice stone be inherited? Inherited biologically? I thought the ice stone…
The ice stone is key when performing AoS. A part of its magic is possibly retained after shifting.
But as soon as the soul is returned to the original body (in the case of Jang Kang and the former king), this power is returned to the ice stone.
It's why when a shifter goes 'wild' they need to use their ability to siphon energy. When they're siphoning energy, they're using what part of the ice stone they acquired (otherwise they can not siphon energy). The clue is the special effects they use is consistent.
#2: Then there is Bu Yeon. She was already dead. Her soul was called back to her body (in the womb) by Jang Kang through the ice stone.
Later, Jin Moo (quite possibly) kidnapped her to find the ice stone. Bu Yeon found it and tried to use it, then she was killed.
It is still unclear how she survived. One possibility is that she did die but since a part of her probably acquired power from the ice stone, she returned back to life. It was probably the only way to stick her soul into her dead body, so she is _maybe_ a little immortal.
#3: Jang Kang while in the former king's body, saw the message of the king about his plan. It scared Jang Kang to the point that he called Jin Moo (his apprentice) and told him how to do AoS (since Jang Kang can not do it because the king's body is dying).
After 7 days, as agreed, Jin Moo used AoS (and the ice stone) to return the souls of the former king and Jang Kang back to their bodies.
#4: The king's plan was to have a heir. If he is in a different body, then the heir is still not his biologically speaking, nothing is connecting them.
The king wasn't talking about a biological heir but rather an heir magically speaking. He knew that magic can be passed on just as DNA is biologically.
And since Jang Kang also understood something about AoS, he got really scared at the plan of the king. To the point that when Jang Uk was born he sealed his magic.
Jang Uk not only acquired the magic of Jang Kang (they're still biologically related so he automatically inherits magic as well); not only did he inherit the king's magic; but he also inadvertently acquired the portion of the power of the ice stone because the king, at that moment, is full of it because of the AoS.
-------
These are only speculations based on what we know so far.
Jang Kang panicking when he read the message of the king doesn't make sense unless the power of the ice stone is also transferred whenever AoS is performed. (And when a shifter siphons energy, they're using the power of the ice stone.)
Are they going to make crown prince a villain? I hope not because i love him
Probably not. However, it is possible he will be tricked by Jin Moo and used for a short while before the Crown Prince realizes he's being used.
His character doesn't seem to be one who hates people just because; nor is he one who looks down on others because he's Royal family.
He banters with everyone, especially those of his age range. He doesn't abuse his power. He knows when to be serious and when to have a friendly match (with Jang Uk specially).
Once Jang Uk becomes stronger, that's when Jin Moo will probably twist him and whisper things like "Jang Uk will become the next king", specially if they finally discover the AoS between Jang Kang and the former king (and the king's star). Because that means Jang Uk is the true king.
But if Jang Uk will declare he has no desired for the throne, that may change the Crown Prince's mind.
Heh, was replying to a thread in another community and I realized something.
Since you need the power of the ice stone to perform AoS …
When Jang Kang performed AoS with the former king; and the king slept with Jang Kang's wife, Jang Uk not only inherited the magic of Jang Kang (as his biological father), the king's (as his second magical father), but also the power of the ice stone.
This is similar in a way to Bu Yeon. She was already dead and her soul was returned through the power of the ice stone.
In other words, there are two people with the power of the ice stone in them: a. Jang Uk b. Bu Yeon
And both can not "unleash" their powers.
This would also explain why Bu Yeon "saved" Jang Uk during an AoS attempt against him. Bu Yeon recognizes the power of the ice stone in Jang Uk. Since the magical expertise of the Jin clan is "sealing" and Jang Uk doesn't know how to use his hidden power, Bu Yeon intervened to ensure the power of the ice stone hidden in Jang Uk remains in the correct body.
Imagine if Bu Yeon did not intervene. Jang Uk in a different body may go wild with the power of the ice stone. Or, the power of the ice stone remains in Jang Uk's body and someone else will be able to use it. Both scenarios are dangerous, very dangerous.

Now, there's Nak Su.
There is something about Nak Su's birth. Bu Yeon wouldn't just absorb her soul.
We do not know when her father was soul shifted. Was her father already soul shifted before Nak Su was conceived? If so, then it means Nak Su's birth was from a soul shifter thus Nak Su is also carrying a portion of the ice stone in her.
And could it be the reason Bu Yeon absorbed Nak Su because part of her came from the ice stone?
If so, then Jang Uk + "Bu Yeon / Nak Su" is one very scary combination and CAN truly match Jin Moo's plans.
It may sound like a stupid question. But it's Jang Wook or Jang Uk? I've seen both.
Depends on which transliteration system a translator is following. As far as I know, Korea doesn't have an official transliteration system like China and Japan. (side note: Event the Hebrew language doesn't have an official transliteration system).
It means, transliterate however you want. Haha.
Anyway, Korean characters pronounced as "Woo" or "U" are transliterated like that, "Woo" or "U".
Thus, "Wook" and "Uk" are both correct. Similarly, "Attorney U Young U" is also correct but it looks weird that way, so "Woo" is more popular.
There is also the "k" and "g". The actual pronunciation is "kg" but English speakers wouldn't know how to pronounced "kg".
So …
Jang Kang or Jang Gang Kimbap or Gimbap
(Note: I could be wrong, this is only based on what I know so far of the Korean language.)
That was the first time Bu Yeon and Nak Su were both active at the same time. Bu Yeon used Nak Su's ability to…
You didn't explain why not so I'll guess: because maybe those are just special effects?
If so, whenever AoS is used, they do see the "special effects". It isn't farfetched that they can also see the light. If I remember correctly, in the mirror episode, Uk explained that there a strong bright light inside the cave and the next thing he knew the mirror broke and Mu Deok escaped.
Also, Uk hesitated. He was processing what he witnessed and what Mu Deok told him. Eventually he looked like he understood what the light meant and took the risk in embracing her because he knew she won't absorb him. Remember in the beginning of the episode, Mu Deok realized that Jang Uk wasn't fazed he lost rather he was replaying his fight in his mind. I think it's what Uk did when he hesitated.
1. The Queen is actually a Shaman. The real Queen is in the Shaman's body - wherever she's locked up.
2. Nak Su's assassinations were to kill the "useless bodies" after the "VIP soul" shifted into a new one. She was not killing mages because of revenge or hatred. She was just following orders, biding her time, waiting for an opportunity to find the Four great families.
As Park said, she was used her entire life while believing the Four great families killed his father for no reason. (But we know Nak Su, Uk, and Yul, are also already aware of the facts; and Nak Su and Uk are waiting for an opportunity.)
3. Bu Yeon is definitely protecting Nak Su. Not only because she will also die if she doesn't protect the "body" but because she needs her. Bu Yeon used Nak Su's ability to absorb energy (since she's a shifter) and she used her power to purify the energy. Bu Yeon is keeping Nak Su alive, preventing her from going wild and petrifying.
4. If Nak Su's energy is boosted, she overpowers Bu Yeon's. When Bu Yeon's power is boosted (or activated) she overpowers Nak Su ("Mu Deok" temporarily goes blind). This is probably one reason why Bu Yeon is not showing herself frequently, Jang Uk and Nak Su may figure it out, or others will.
5. The jade pendants are important. It will allow Jang Uk and "Mu Deok" to share their energy. Maybe Jang Uk sharing his energy is the key to making Nak Su's and Bu Yeon's energies to work in tandem instead of trying to overpower each other.
I can't think of a good analogy but let's say "transformer" (in electrical) or a "bridge". Maybe Nak Su's and Bu Yeon's energies are in contrast with each other (Yin and Yang) but in reality their energies complement each other. To create that "connection", Jang Uk's energy is needed … and Jang Uk can only share his energy through the pendant.
And maybe, whatever power Jang Uk has, it will only be unlocked with the combined powers of Nak Su and Bu Yeon. We go back to, again, Yin and Yang, two opposing energies that actually complements each other.
Just wondering and curious........Only Uk, Yul, master Lee and the audience know that Naksu is inside Mu Doek's…
Their country is not trapped in hierarchical ranks. Their position are simply roles.
In the modern times, a good analogy would be an employer who separates a person's pay from their ranks and roles. Most companies today give the same level of salary based on ranks. They mix rank and position. However, there are a few companies which separates these two. So say, 2 people with the rank of supervisor are paid differently based on their performance and role.
In Daeho, Mu Deok's rank is a servant, her role is a maid. The see ranks are nothing but hierarchical order. And no matter what one's role is, they are all equals. They are all integral part of the machine that makes the nation work.
Did I understand correctly that the jade pendants themselves attract each other (like magnets) and not the "souls"…
The two jade pendants are filled with the energy of Yin and Yang. Two opposite energies that actually complements each other.
So technically, it is not the pendants that is attracting each other but the energies inside a person. If one of the pendant is activated, the Yin or Yang energy in it dominates that persons holding them, which they makes them to look for each other because Yin and Yang complements each other.
That was the first time Bu Yeon and Nak Su were both active at the same time. Bu Yeon used Nak Su's ability to absorb energy while at the same time she also used her own powers to make the transfer pure.
Notice the difference in special effects.
1: A shifter absorbing another person's energy, the sfx is dark energy or shadow. 2: Bu Yeon purifying the energy being absorbed by Nak Su (as a shifter) is light, intense light.
I think Jang Uk also saw it and this is the reason why he embraced her. He understood the difference. He understood the meaning of the intense light.
Secondly, remember during the mirror episode? What broke it was Bu Yeon's power, the intense light (or energy).
Third, in the preview, Mu Deok's temporarily blind again. The effect of the intense light did not show up immediately (like in the mirror episode) because she just absorbed an energy. As Nak Su, her own power is much stronger than Bu Yeon at that moment. But once that energy she absorbed "calmed down" (for lack of a better term), Bu Yeon, having activated herself, overpowered Nak Su thus Mu Deok (the body) turned blind temporarily again.
Once Bu Yeon's power "calms down" Nak Su and her will be on equal footing again, cancelling each other … which would mean since Nak Su is the one with control over the body, Mu Deok will get her sight back again.
