I hope someone here is a VIP at Iqiyi then and will post the ending for those of us who love to be spoiled.
There are two types of VIP in iQIYI - Standard and Premium.
Standard VIP = get your iQIYI friends to vote and unlock Premium VIP = they can watch it already
I think they're doing this stupid method because majority of their subscribers are Standard VIP. There's literally no reason why one would pay for Premium VIP, now they created a reason.
its available in IQIYI, i don't know why it doesn't show the "Where to watch" section
iQIYI links are not showing in MDL for some reason. I think it's a bug or something. I haven't seen a single iQIYI link in any titles with iQIYI streaming (I checked via Edit and it's there).
I thought it could be Ye You Ning himself. (The grown up version? From some other timeline?) The bear might befor…
Yeah, I hope they reveal who that bear is. Lols. He's appearing randomly and the characters seem to be fine with it (although if I remember correctly, in one episode they paused wondering why there's a bear mascot).
But if it's for comedic effect only, a huge kudos to the writer and director for thinking it. It's very rare to see this type of comedic effect. Not part of the story, just there to make us wonder and laugh.
Time travel explanation, at least based on episodes 1 to 16.
#Spoiler Episode 16 (of 24) of #CDrama #FirstLoveAgain demonstrated the danger of keeping a connection between the Past and the Future. A minor change can turn everything in the future into a disaster.
In this post, I'm going to explain the #timetravel concept used in this show.
Some notes to remember: * Past - refers to 2007 time period (I used 2007 since they graduated already) * Future - refers to 2019 time period
Here's the scenario: Our male lead, Youning, suddenly received a new memory which prompted him to send a message to the Past Wenxi (our female lead). This immediately changed the future.
What happened was when Past Wenxi ran out of her house to check on Past Youning an electric pole fell on her. She was comatosed. Years later (the Future time period) we see Wenxi on a wheelchair without her memories.
Most who are not familiar with time travel would've have asked some questions, in this post I'll address one: 1. Why did Future Youning receive a new memory when it happened in the Past? Should it not have happened from Future Youning's vantage point in 2019?
The answer is simple: Both the Past (2007) and the Future (2019) are _both_ "Present Time".
The thing with time travel, at least as far as what is common in Asian fiction, is that as long as the window connecting two periods of time is intact or open, both these time periods are "Present time". It means that the past from the vantage point of someone in 2019 is fluid and ever-changing. In the same way that the future from the vantage point of someone in 2007 is fluid and ever-changing.
Future Youning received a new memory in 2019 because Past Youning did something new in 2007 that never happened before. Because of this _independent_ change (meaning, without interference from the Future), everything shifted which caused Future Youning to receive a new memory.
Then, as far as this story goes, Future Youning reacted quickly and sent a message to Past Wenxi prompting her to run outside and being at the wrong place at the wrong time when an electric pole fell. This was a major change than a simple new memory, the effect was devastating when Future Youning immediately saw everything changed and Future Wenxi was on a wheelchair without her memories.
This is the danger of keeping the "door" or the "time machine" open/running, everything from the Future to the Past is fluid and ever-changing.
The other danger is what Future Youning did, his reaction was too quick, he did not analysed his new memory first. If there is a new memory then it followed that there will be additional new memories. If he only waited a few seconds or minutes, he would've seen the other new memories.
Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that he reacted fast, this allowed him to see the dangers of his action after witnessing the possibility of Wenxi forever losing her memories. But, at least from my personal view, what he did was a very, very, very high stake gamble. What if he failed to send a new/follow-up message to Past Wenxi? Or he was late by a few seconds? Or Past Wenxi ignored the new message she received on her phone? He'll have to live forever taking care of Wenxi without her memories.
The direct sequel to this 1983 film adaptation is the 2010 film adaptation listed in MDL simply as "Time Traveller" --> https://kisskh.at/246-time-traveller
I love how they present the time travel story through old photographs.
1. She chooses which one to burn. 2. Travels back in time. 3. Changes something. 4. Goes back to the present. 5. Then as for the episode epilogue, they show us how they ended up taking the photo.
The number 5 is very significant. It was not just an epilogue, it was a memory, an important memory that she burned and changed. By burning it, she can never have a copy of that photo ever again. By changing things in the past, that memory will forever be gone, it never happened anymore. That memory of the old timeline will _only_ be burned in her own and no one else's.
its good, but not as good as the previous films. i found the story lacking cause it didn't show why kenshin's…
Wasn't his childhood and him leaving his master shown in flashbacks in the regular flow? I don't recall the OVA this movie was based on ever focused on those.

Let's see how effective it will be.
However, since this is a live-action adaptation and ratings matter more, they might change the ending too … so … yeah, watching to the end.

1. Friend of Wen Xi's father
2. It's just for comedic effect
3. Wen Xi's father
4. Your own guess -- share it!
There are two tracks that are not yet available in Spotify. One was by Amy Chen herself entitled 失重体验. I will add it as soon as it is available.
Enjoy!
