I don't really understand why people are so upset about the changes in the Thai adaptation of Ossan’s Love. It’s an adaptation, not a direct copy. Without any changes, it would just be the Japanese version but in Thai, might as well just watch the original with Thai subtitles lol ?

I’ve seen people complain about the addition of a dead wife in the story. I get it, the wife’s storyline in the original was really compelling, and I personally enjoyed it too. But I also find it interesting to explore Kongdech’s journey of grieving his late wife ,finding love again and having a child. Sure, it’s different, but why is that bad? It opens up new emotional and narrative possibilities that weren’t in the original.

As for the iconic line, “I know you like big boobs, but what about a big c*ck?” being changed—I can see why fans are attached to it. It’s bold and memorable. But I think it's important to remember that humor, cultural norms, and storytelling preferences can vary between countries. A joke that works perfectly in Japan might not land the same way in Thailand, so adaptations sometimes need to adjust.

In my opinion, adaptations should be judged as their own works. They’re meant to reinterpret the source material through a different lens, not just recreate it scene for scene.
