Unnecessarily confusing

This is going to piss some people off so if you like the series and have no complaints about it then don't read, if you disagree I don't care, keep it to yourself it's"my" review and "my" opinion, also I'm going to vent a little, with some curses ahead ~~

All good? ... Perfect.

Now, what the fuck was that 😂
I binge watched this so it wasn't as confusing to me as - I imagine - to whoever watched it while it was on air, and I have to say I still ended up with too many questions, unnecessary questions about what was real and wasn't, specially for Tonkla-korn relationship.
Direction was all over the place, making everything confusing, story by itself is good, even great and acting was on point even with the questionable characters' morals and behaviours, and sadly that's the only thing I liked about the series, also Den, he was adorable !!! I LOVE HIM!!! MUAH!! He was the best and I loved his interaction with Tyme, cough-even more than with great-cough 😂😂

What I didn't like was somehow all the characters maybe lol I mean they were written in a weird way the only person I felt sorry for was Tyme, Great? Not so much....
I mean Great literally did a hit and run then later they kinda forgot to show his confessing to it IRL and just showed his regret in the 4mins, I know he is sorry and the lady actually committed suicide by jumping in front of him but how would we know now if she actually wanted to die???huh how?? This was all in his 4mins which was led by his feelings and regrets.

so, um, lady, you died, sorry about that I'll just imagine you jumped on purpose and then forget all about it, ok? 👍

Now Tonkla revenge? Logically this part was sci-fi lmao I mean anyone with evidences just shows them to anyone, police is big a joke! I mean who in his right mind share sensitive information in the investigation with Normal citizens? Moreover a relative to the dead person? Bitch, please!

What I hated the most was the way the direction went, specially the part where they intentionally showed the real life for Tonkla-korn-Win DURING Great's 4mins, confusing AF unnecessarily!!
Also the reference that the lady who died was the reason for Greats mum death and magically when he let her die he saved his mum but WHAT IS THE PROOF YOU F*CKERS!!!! You just put random connections just like that? Good lord!! 🤦🤦🤦

Lady, yes you who I killed a few moments ago, hello again, now you would have been the reason to kill my mum so I really am relieved you died!! To save my mum you know🤷 completely logical ~

You see, after everything settles in, and I know it's just a series and fictional and bla bla bla, I just don't like illogical stuff, but ..BUT!! I still think the story was amazing needs some polishing but nonetheless
I know my review doesn't show that, seriously, the story was amazing it could have been much much better, cinematography was Fantastic!! But sadly that doesn't help much when the final product is full of flaws ~

Nice guy in a not very nice drama

I believe the reason i didn't really like this drama is because it promises something and gave us another thing, or at least that's not what I expected before starting it.

It's a romance, family, drama, but all we got were gangs war.
Romance was very little to non in the beginning, it's all about the two gang leaders and the animosity between the them, of course Seok Cheol is caught in the crossfire.
The family parts is only about the mess the older sister made and the hopeless dating case of the younger, Seok Cheol had little influence on both, he's just there trying to pick up the broken pieces.

I saw someone comparing this drama to "call it love" because it has the same vibes and I agree, it has the same atmosphere but heavily focused on other things aside from the romance.

I believe if they just cut the romance and advertise it as a gangster drama it would have been much better.

Another thing is the slow boring pace, and I mean in general, it's not a calm healing drama, though it has all the aspects of being so, it is about struggling with things you have no influence on, which makes your heart heavy unnecessarily, I'm of course talking about Seok Cheol in this case and I can't not focus on him because he is the ML.

The FL is lovely and adorable but I don't know what they wanted her character to be, in the very beginning we meet this introverted character with a traumatic past that made her life miserable and had a hard time maintaining a job related to her passion for music, she feels better performing in front of a camera than a few people (her words not mine) then suddenly she is performing on the streets, in bars and in front of the whole republic of Korea.

I think the drama is generally good it's just need some polishing here and there, so if you like family dramas and gangs this one is for you, if you are watching for the romance drama part, I don't think you will be satisfied much ~

Comforting but borderline boring

I love healing dramas, the ones that are calming and deal with Human interactions.
This one checks the box yet have some negatives that made me rate it less than I intended to.

From the outside it's a calming and light drama that deals with serious issues in lighter way and ensure that everyone gets his happy end and/or move on from whatever trouble got them stuck in their lives.
Acting was great and well balanced from the funny to sad to lovable moments.

On the other hands, the stories were too boring, and some of the characters were uninteresting and very skippable, the two leads are just another story in the series, they don't seem more important or anything just like any normal story shown here, combine this with 18 episodes made the drama a little hard to enjoy.

Overall, not bad but not good, for me there is a thin line between a human, calm and comforting drama and a very slow, boring and longer than necessary drama, this one fluctuate between both sides.

Spectacular

Hands down, one of greatest dramas made in the last few years.
It's probably in my top 3 favourite dramas I've seen this year and it's totally deserved the hype.

I liked the story and the pace, it's very satisfying specially the punishments, I found myself agreeing with Justitia most of the time, I don't care if they didn't go to jail if the criminals were tortured, died painfully and went to hell, that's is more satisfying than staying behind bars for a few years.

I also have to applaud the acting, PSH shines here, and I have to say I'm impressed she improved BIG TIME, the rest of the cast was also amazing but I only mentioned PSH as she was -for me- slightly over hyped as an actress specially in her old dramas, I liked her generally but let's say I wouldn't exactly jump at the any chance of watching anything if I knew she is in it, nevertheless, here she was amazing, she nailed her role.

I don't think I hated anything about the drama, the only thing that I slightly didn't like was that it was very predictable, I expected almost everything and every secret, yet I didn't feel bored watching it it was still entertaining.
I also loved how they didn't dwell on the crimes, only took the time to show the whole punishment instead and equally focused on Justitia story as well as the crimes and punishments.

I would recommend it if you like the genre. It's done very well.

A dive into the dark side

A very dark and slightly disturbing story of two lost souls searching for love.

The story is very heavy, it leaves a very bitter aftertaste when you finish it
While the end is very good, the drama itself is so sad.

It's not the darkest I've ever seen and considering this is a Japanese drama I'm totally unsurprised by the story and how disturbing it was in some scenes -the little child scene with the man stripping - yet I slightly regret watching this as it's totally not the type of dramas I'd generally enjoy.

Acting was ok, I loved Kaji the most, he also -surprisingly - provided some comedic relief in some scenes.
Story like I said was too dark, but not bad, you still can enjoy the rest of the day normally after finishing it, or is it just me? ... Ok.

I'd generally not watch it again, nor recommend it but for the sake of the whole experience I'd give it a 3,5 or something ~

Nice show but with no story

Watch this only if you like the two leads and don't care about anything else

I love Singto and I believe he is an astonishing actor, that is why I started this show despite not being a huge fan of the whole "getting back to your ex" thing. And he didn't disappoint, Kris and Singto carried the whole show, basically because the rest of the cast only appeared scarcely.
So if you like the two leads and enjoy watching them for the sake of watching them, then you will love this.

Aside from that, and after the first few episodes, there is literally nothing going on, just the day to day events of two normal people ( or normal exs) trying to get back together but too proud to admit they still love eachother, so they play cat and mouse, with nothing going on, the series focus is shifted towards everything aside from the show they are making, actually that show is a key part that drives their relationship, not the other way around.

Is it a bad series?? Not really but it has no story, no events, nothing to catch your attention or keep you watching or at least makes you want to reach the end.

So aside from two good leads, this show has nothing to provide ~~

I am still waiting for that punch

Ok this isn't what I expected, and not in a good way.
This is supposed to be a rom-com, it's more of a sport drama with a rom side story, the beginning was funny and some characters were written literally for comedic relief but somehow in the middle they got too seriously responsible and start giving life lessons.
What I loved about the drama was the FL and how she is so resilient and strong-willed, her whole journey and the lessons we can learn.
Also the importance of moving on, losing a person or being the cause of if is difficult, still we have to eventually move on with our lives.

What I didn't like was literally everything else, the ML character is terrible, I know he's been through a lot but that doesn't give him a pass on the pain he inflicted on others, hurting someone isn't an excuse if you have a sad backstory, the whole time I was waiting for the FL punch to come, yet I was surprised by the bizarre romance, the FL is supposedly different from her mother and sister, she is the mind while they are the heart, but to fall in love with a jerk who used you just because he has a sad past is just too stupid, just make her a hopeless romantic like her mum and I'll believe it. Also where is the punch?? He deserves one even if you fall for him, a deal is a deal!
Also this is supposed to be a rom-com, with sport side genre maybe or even a main one but this is too dramatic, it's about suffering and loss, nothing to laugh about here.
The last 3 EPs or so were all over the place, the whole time skip is just unnecessary, and the ML change of heart towards the FL makes me want to seriously roots for Uba, I'm on the same page with the FL sister on this matter.
Finally, I wouldn't recommend this drama because despite being a good one, it got a little boring by the end, and the story isn't that great anyway also the rom-com is very light and only in the first couple of episodes, the rest is pure sport drama.

Emotional and different

Let me begin by saying that this is not Nevertheless, it's completely different from the source material and I mean the webtoon not the Korean adaptation,
So if you want to watch it because you loved the webtoon/kdrama, you will find something else.

That alone made me rate it less than I intended to, because it's not a direct adaptation, it copied a few elements from the original webtoon and the rest is new.

Now judging the whole thing starting with the changes in the story. Is it bad? Nope, not at all, I dare say it's actually a better story than the original, and if they were brave enough to ignore the source material completely and adjust the story a little, it'd be much better, hell, it'd be perfect.
Alas that it's not the case here, at some point I thought ok this is nevertheless, and in others I thought nope that's new, this state of confusion made me wonder how shall I rate this? Like should I compare it to the source or just ignore it?
To elaborate a little on this, some points that confused me a lot like the lack of attention given to the art, weird I know but they didn't explain what their arts represent, what does it means, I see some scribbles and they say wow! 🤯
Shall I be impressed now? I mean don't get me wrong but I'd appreciate if you explain more, how is this good art, why is this great, what did it represent?
Also the side stories that got disregarded after being completely presented in a very shallow way, if you don't want to show the side stories, don't! And focus only on the main characters story, I was surprised when Osakabe and Hikari disappeared suddenly, Ruki too was gone to give more space for the two leads interactions.
You don't have to burn the candle from both ends, if you can't show a character properly, don't make him a main.

So I believe the story could be much better if they just break free from the webtoon shadow, because them wanting to include elements from the webtoon (like the side stories and the main theme like the butterfly that didn't have any importance or influence on the ML nor did they give a reason of his love for them) was unnecessary.

Now I don't have any other complaints about acting or characters, the things they changed are acceptable and all actors did great.
I also - surprisingly - recommend it, if you are into this romantically melancholic stories and basically haven't read the webtoon.

Emotional and lovely

The drama has so many mixed reviews about it, and I belong to the one that likes it, actually I'm probably against all the negative points mentioned about it.

First acting is amazing, Toma's appearance with how little it was, he still shines as the goofy, hopeless romantic and nice BF/Friend.
Also I'm a HUGE Arimura Kasumi fan, and I loved her role and everything about it, kentaro too was great.

The story itself is very predictable, it plays in that gray area about the whole two souls inside one body, and what's considered cheating or just go what your heart's desire.

Now, I really love Saeko, and I believe I'd literally do the same thing she did, on the other hand, I didn't respect Mike's at all, and I don't believe her love that much, she was selfish and arrogant, selfish when she didn't care about her husband's heart and how it changes him, I believe the most frightened person should be Naruse, the one who is confused about how he feels and need emotional support and help, and arrogant when she boldly confronted Saeko, and at the end when she told her about his heart condition.

I may be evil for liking how this end, if Saeko lost her lover, so does Miki, now she would understand how it feels to lose the love of your life.
I may be a little harsh, and I genuinely liked how they ended on good terms, but she just played victim the whole time while the only person who gained something from this whole situation, her lover is safe and healthy - up till the end at least- while Saeko lost hers, and Naruse got identity crisis.

Overall I loved how it ended, I just hated how Miki behaved and I know everyone is commenting about the cheating but seriously, what did you expect from a heart transplant story where the person gain memories from the hearts and meet the lover of the donor. It obviously says between the line that we will have a dilemma of falling for two people, yet, I believe the whole cheating part was just confusion, not real feelings.

That been said, it's a very interesting drama, you can easily binge it without a moment of boredom.

What's the point

I watched the whole thing without even knowing what's the point by the end of it.
Now it's not the first Japanese drama I watch that ends with a vague open end, I don't mind that and I'm fine with it but seriously this one isn't it.

The genre, romance and comedy are non existing, it's just a slice of life with barely any life lessons, just confused people thinking and talking about their failed relationship,
Do they figure out what went wrong? Nope
Do they learn anything from the experience? Nope not really.
Do we learn anything? Not even the slightest, it's really confusing.

I understand that the main theme here is adult relationships, they mentioned that many times but still it's about confused adult that somehow trying to understand what they want in life and in love and by the 8th ep and after one of the side stories character have a long monologue about marriage and kids they finds out that they will always be confused about life and there is no way you'll find your answer in life, you just have to life it come what may, well guess what!? EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!!! Thank you for teaching nothing.
For a "slice of life" drama it was not very eye-opening.
For a character like Mami, she is the most annoying character ever btw, she started off married, and she just keep complaining and acting like a Bi**h to her husband then get a divorce then end up together with her husband... Honey that's just married with extra steps, extra unnecessary and annoying steps, you are just a spoiled brat! Get over yourself!

For Mukai, my sweet confused boy, I totally and completely didn't sympathise with him lol like bro what do you want? They literally gave him many options, the one that want to have fun with no commitments, the one who want to be serious about marriage, a girl that wants the normal relationship with the typical steps, and another that want the full baggage, and you leave all that to fall for a girl that doesn't even want you and end up being the same as you were. And you say character development?? Bi**h where!!???

Long story short, My main problem with this is it felt like a loop, all the characters are at the same spot in their life - except maybe Kouki san- by the end of it.
Making me wonder why did I spend all that time watching it.

A flower that didn't get to bloom

I can't express how much I loved it, it was very unique and special drama, yet, it didn't feel complete, it felt like a very long preface and stopped right at the first chapter.

I have to say first that I haven't read the source material I know the series adapt a part of a whole, but my opinion relies only on the series, so excuse me if I ignore the whole and focus only on the part adapted.

What I liked about this drama despite the slow pace is the way the story is represented, I totally got immersed in it and wanted to see more, and although I mainly started it because it was a BL, I didn't really care about the lack of romance for the most of it, I also felt robbed of the relationship development as it stopped at a very critical point but that didn't deprive the story from it's charm.
Acting was amazing, I can't believe the two leads are actually that old, they fit their ages pretty well, and they did great job, specially the 30YO Liu Dong Qin, despite applying half a bottle of foundation on his beard area and how obvious it looked but I bought that he is 17.

However, what made me anxious toward the end - beside knowing that I won't find a drama as good after finishing it - is that I knew there won't be enough time to show the relationship and the blossoming romance between them.
And that really left me in a pinch, because I don't know if adapting a small part of the source material and stop the drama at this point on the story and depend on having a second season to tie up loose end is a good idea or not, because second season isn't promised and many problems could arise making it difficult to produce a second season, that been said, i also can't imagine changing and of the episodes to include more of the story as I believe it could take away from the beauty of how it's made.
I mean, ep9 is amazing I had so much fun watching it and despite most of it being a filler, I don't wish to change a thing about it.

Overall I love it as it is, slightly hoping that the plan of having a second season would be true and we will get to see more of them, I really want to see those two boys in love.

I really recommend this, it's one of a kind and very perfectly made.

Great show like old dramas

I watched this with my niece, and we both enjoyed it very much, she likes it a little more than I, but we both had fun.

Story is great and enjoyable, cast was spectacular, all characters were great even evil ones, the two leads and Bong su are the best of the best, the 3 characters were amazing and tbh all the class characters were so much fun.

It's humorous, fun and great with a touch of fantasy.

Then why am I only giving this 6.5??
Because it also lacking big deal, the show starts off nice and fun, got boring just after 3 episodes only to pick up the pace for a couple of episodes from mid ep7 to 9... The story has too many plotholes, unnecessarily.
Everything can be solved with a talisman... Bad ghost? Talisman... Evil spirit? Talisman.. Switching fates? Talisman... Hair fall?? Also talisman ... Even at the very last end ... Everything got solved like that *snaps fingers* as if there is no whole 12 episodes of struggles.

So after finishing it and looking back you'd feel like, nah that was too easy I wonder what's all the fuss was about... Also the evil shaman role is kinda stupid, I mean I loved the character and hats off to the actress, but seriously, everything could have been easily solved if they just drugged her or kept her under their watch for a few days or so ~
But noo hohohoo.... They have to let her fxxk everything up then solve it later.

The evil spirit that everyone fears and was wrecking a havoc, is actually the nicest and cutest ever, I loved him even more than the ML, which is kinda stupid too, because if this is when I'm supposed to fear, then you are doing it wrong.

So all this was the reason I gave it such rate, but still it was very enjoyable if you just ignore the story and enjoyed the show for the acting and fun characters~~

Lost it's charm half way through

I was so excited about this because I love the two leads specially HS, sadly it wasn't that great and struggled to not drop it.

Acting :
Ihave to be fair and say that acting-wise it was good, HS was spectacular, the only thing I couldn't stomach was the way Heyri was speaking, it's like a 3 YO child still I understand that it's the way she chose to go with the character so I didn't mind much, and while I like KH I couldn't see anything "in his eyes" the anger or calmness or whatever that he has to show was lost on me, I was only able to see one facial expression all the way, he just can't act with his eyes.
So aside from that I liked the rest of the actors even the annoying ones.

Story:
I don't know what was going on, and not that I didn't understand the story but midway it was all over the place, the way they showed she was not a serious case of DID then bam! She was cured just like that, I hardly could see her taking any meds nor was I convinced by the psychiatrist she was seeing and their conversations felt ridiculous.
Also I couldn't follow through the time, some days I'd be confused like shouldn't they be at work now or whatever? Are they allowed to take so much days off? Specially the days that HO had to stay with EH I and she sleeps for over 13 hours for like 3 days continuously.
Aside from lacking logic big deal, the story got very boring, the more you watch the more you get less excited to finish it, pity it was good at the beginning.

Overall not really bad, what I didn't like was personal preference, some can just not see the things I didn't like or can be easily ignored, yet I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you have patience and don't care much about logic ~

Crappy scenario but great at everything else

It was fantastic, a really well done show. Everything was spectacular but if it wasn't for the weird scenario and some questionable behaviour from some characters I believe it would be a 10/10 show.
I have a lot that I hated and also liked about it so I have many mixed feelings after I've finished it.

Cast:
The two leads were magnificent, they really did justice to their roles, they were amazing and their chemistry is top notch, I love Peterpan since sunshine night, and Pond since 180 degrees.
Did I ever pictured the two together? Never, which is why this was a pleasant surprise. They really have great harmony.
Characters however, were slightly off, Armin is very self centered, after coming back he acts like a child talking about the future like a crazy guy not caring about how people will think of him and for someone who is chasing fame it's kinda silly, I didn't get his contradictory behaviour sometimes ( won't say much cause spoilers) but he kept taking every support from TD without even caring enough to know who is he and why why why he is doing all that!?
And Tada, I didn't understand at first why he did all that but after a while I kind accept the reason for everything he kept on doing but seriously, I couldn't understand one thing, how was he able to completely accept Armins shenanigans about his death and the future calmly, the first thing I'd think of would literally be " oh sh!t, I fell in love with a crazy man"

Story:
Here ... We really need to talk!!
Story by itself is great, nothing original and done a billion times before, still solid! And enjoyable if done well, everyone loves a great revenge story, right?
That didn't happen here, the way the scenario goes is just weird, First few episodes were all about Armin coming back and wondering why he keep meeting people he met in his first life .... Wow! I wonder why? Because it's your freaking life, bro!!! You are supposed to cross path with them, why do you think that because you repeating your life that it would be different? And if so why do you keep talking like "in the future this will happen, and that will happen" like an expert yet be so freaking surprised to meet your ex again!!!
Also, he was so stupid regarding Yada, how couldn't he put two and two together and get that he is TD.
It's not the proof is in the pudding moment, you just have to use 2 brain cells to get that.
There are a few other things that I also didn't like, like how the bad people are only threatening everyone without actually doing anything, maybe Ren did something bit Thiwthit at the end, that's just messy writing.

Now I myself am confused, did I like this drama or not, I believe I did, it's just like, eating your favourite dessert after being in the fridge for a while, you know there is something wrong with the taste but still enjoying it 😂😂 weird comparison I know but you get my point.

Good slice of life but lacks logic

I liked this drama but I hated the amount of illogical behaviour from some characters and the unnecessary obscurity of the story.

I know it's discussing a very serious issue here but the way the characters handled the abuse matter is so stupid, providing little to no solutions, none whatsoever to anyone who is involved.
What made things even worse (which is a personal matter but still) was the little kid's behaviour and his mum's lack of brains, I know he is a child and he is a wounded one but he was so spoilt like his mum which made it slightly harder for me to sympathise with them. I'm not saying I didn't wish for them to be happy, it's just that I wasn't particularly moved by their story, I had a straight face all the way.

I still loved Hiroto tho, and his selfless character, slightly annoying but I still loved him so much
