-their hallucinations was due to the meteorite.. i think that's why fo ye said that because he realized that everything around them was just pure hallucinations and it took them quite some time to escape from the meteorite.

-lieutenant zhang did not die. maybe he was shot but he did not die.. you can see him alive, breathing,young, and kicking in "tomb of the sea" and cameos in Ultimate note :>
