true, there was the seed planted from *the future* so she couldn't fully trust him and even though she cared about him she was quick to be suspicious of him! was getting tired of the misunderstanding plot but it does make sense in context of the show. we all LOVE TTJ so as the audience we know we should be more generous when trusting him but as a character in the plot it's understandable why you wouldn't!

yeah, her turning to a goddess was a completion of TTJ's arc rather than her own arc really. Like it was her arc, but he was the one to push her there. I'm fine with that but you can tell it's more his story than hers and ppl should take that into consideration!

you're not meddling lol! glad we can have discussions on characters here π and yes! agree that she can't gamble on him -- he's not even a "normal" person. He's a reincarnating devil fetus--we say it like no big deal but he's a *DEVIL FETUS*--when you're actually dealing with this supernatural creature that has come back from even Mingye, a proper God of War fight, then can you really trust you can change "the future". It was just kinda sloppy the way they did it (probs due to the cuts) and because a lot of LSS's dialogue is yelling "TTJ" and "don't die"--on the next rewatch we should take a shot every time she says either of those--instead of focusing on more of her inner thoughts
i terms of the devil bone--if she dies with it in her pure spiritual body, or whatever, is the assumption... it would also dissipate?? i wouldn't trust that lol but okay, at that point she chooses TTJ over the mission then because she thinks she's succeeded at that point anyway and he can't become the DG--gotcha!
Man, I'm so tired of the Li Susu hate. Like, I know everyone has the right to their own personal opinion, but…
i feel like ppl focus too much on How Much LSS loves TTJ. TTJ was designed by the devil god to be miserable and lacked any sort of affection from anybody--initially he becomes obsessed with her (in an unhealthy way) but it transforms into something healthy later. Ppl are mad that LSS doesn't turn "fatal attraction" on him and reciprocate his obsession which doesn't fit her character. LSS has a mission (we love a girl on a mission) and then they ask why doesn't she abandon it all for *Love*--first of all, everyone complains that women shouldn't abandon their goals for the the pretty boy (we all are sympathetic towards his character) but LOVE shouldn't be how we measure this show. Before LSS, TTJ had no hope and no light while SHE DID and he's in direct opposition of her "love" which is familial at that point. It's more about humanity and what it means to care for something. This show is more about two ppl colliding from opposing places and learning to *Care* for another another and then growing from that. The *Care* doesn't necessarily need to be romantic or equal for the narrative. It would have been just as strong, maybe stronger, if they didn't become romantic but just became comrades in arms willing to fight "destiny" for each other--where circumstance pushed two ppl destined to fight one another to care for one another. TTJ had such character growth and obstacle after obstacle to do the right thing because of how he is born. He is desperate for something to hold onto and LSS as YXW (with ulterior motives) becomes an anchor and catalyst for change and he grows (it's his story) because of her--regardless of her intentions. Hers is learning to see him separate from the Devil God designation and she does but it does become romantic love, which i think is an added bonus. They're willing to die for one another but ppl are keeping score and measuring how much they love each other.
Also, love that she's not an flawless angel but ppl like flawed female heroines until they get one lol. I do agree tho with the confusion over why she needed to save XL--the writing there was weird??? that felt like an unecessary diversion as ppl said above bc TTJ was proving not to be unnecessarily cruel at that point so she really didn't need to go do that but plot i guess.. Porridge gate continues to cause me migraines but I love the dungeon scene with all my heart cause it's traumatic and dark and i love that this show went there ~~~ and you can really feel all the raw emotions, dark emotions that only come from a loss and betrayal. It only hurts so much because you can feel how much they came to care for each other and to have that ruined was the pinnacle of heartbreak.
Also don't understand immortal arc where she say's they can't be together--is that because she needs the heartless way (forgetting romantic attachments) in order to ascend to godhood and become the only one to seal the demon bone?? if so, then why does she abandon this later and agree to marry him?? I need to rewatch..
i tend to fixate on things and that just never made it to the list i guess lol
