Ok so you can take the opportunity to "teach me" and explain to me what is going on because as a wife mother and grandmother I obviously totally lack any understanding of whats going on. I never spoke about their romance. I think the fact that she is the biological aunt, her MOTHER is the grandmother, visits to the child would/ should have included her and contact with her future husband. No need to force anything. As I watched up to episode 30 any response to my actual comments is no longer required.

I usually avoid harem shows, I know they avoid sex scenes but its implied and the thought that these men are sharing, yuck.
Anyway 2nd (minglan being 1st) and its made obvious he is estranged from the concubines. Not totally believable to me.
Heres why. It takes the leads a year to marry, and judging by there behaviour they didnt spend any time trying to get to know each other. Even more puzzling is the fact that the female lead promised to be a mother to the child but had zero contact with him for 12 months+.
Anyway apart from the plot holes Im enjoying the show. Love to hate the fake concubine whose scheming always falls flat. The blinkered MIL, I want to slap her!
Ive also seen the clips with the divorce letter and the prison scene. The scene where she said for them to be husband and wife again in their next life, I knew it was very serious. I initially thought he divorced her to protect her from the Ou family. I dont believe for 1 minute the Duke believes or trusts anything the rotten concubine says, but with Mr Lin back on the scene setting a trap that would look like Shiyi is committing adultery is a good possibility. I thought the scene with Lingyi and Mr Lin passing each other in the street was troubling.
Im on tenterhooks waiting for new episodes. We know this wont be smooth sailing.

I have just finished episode 24. The ending was basically explaining the title.
It left me feeling that it wasnt finished. There should be so much more. There story was really just beginning. I also felt the way the story was told was just a snap shot of a much larger picture. I also didnt see aby of the relising of dreams that was in the synopsis. But like Fang Li, I also fell in love with Luo Yan at first sight!
What I find irritating about this drama is something I see in most of them is the gorgeous female leads wardrobe is awful her hair style is dreadful. How can the ML can believably call her beautiful? I nearly spat my drink when he said it. I will look forward to seeing the leads in other dramas,

The ML is a sleaze bag. I kept thinking the FL should go for the editor, he is good looking, nice and has a great build.
Wee and phen deserve each other and it saddens me that the "strong" FL couldnt detach herself from this big headed man with a childs body. Not impressed with ML mum telling them to forgive each other for things that happened before when her so had just fcuked his "girlfriend". MIL definitely made the wrong choice for FL.

I came here because I finished the first episode, saw previews of the 2nd episode and gutted finding out that HJP isnt the ML????? NDS is? Why?
Ive read the reviews above and the comments below and decided that this drama isnt for me. I only lost 1 or so.

Im on episode 21? I think. Annoyed enough with the stupid storyline involving Tang Ping. How to interfere with a couple private time. What a useless frustrating storyline.
Now this 6 year separation? Raising a child on her own? ML can pursue his dreams?
Cant this be done together? This is not true love to me. Ridiculous! I think I will watch this while Im waiting for subs on other dramas. So many Ive dropped with the last 2 episodes unwatched!

Im on episode 18, and it has taken me so time. I think because the story doesnt flow its like a bumpy ride in an old wagon. Sonetimes painful. You may like slow burn but this isnt slow burn. To me the ML must have made some sort of gesture to the annoying Du woman to have her hanging on to him so desperately knowing he doesnt love her. Or in denial? Anyway its a too common character in nearly all Chinese dramas that makes me want to kick my tv.
Back to the gutless leads, neither of them will admit to their feelings. Ive seen some clips from future episode on YT and things get really serious. The character of Prince Zhao is unrecognisable, he is evil? Ml nearly marries the Du girl? Female lead is tortured because of a fake pregnancy? Ml drinks poison to avoid marriage. Wow the list goes on, but hey guess what, they still dont confess. Well its certainly dragged out. Thinking I shouls skip 10 episodes just to get to a good part.

Just completed episode 21.
In the beginning (2nd-3rd episode) I wanted to chuck it in. The FL's stupidity and loud crying was a total put off. As you can see she grew on me and I quite like her. The ML, well is a nice guy although a bit too innocent. I really like him. The worst he has done is leave the FL hanging on her birthday.
Now to the character I dislike the most would be FL bff. Yi Yi is deranged when it comes to her relationships. Watching I feel I must have dozed off and missed something important. Has she really fallen in love with her ex Lin Nuo or just said that to save face with her ex who has been accused cheating? Now she has been fake crying at FL's, and being the worst type of cock blocker!!!! I hope Lin Nuo ends up with the nurse. Yi Yi is enjoying those unanswered calks from the ex way too much.

Not something to get stuck on. Im more perturbed about her stupidity and crying. Only on episode 2 and not impressed. Also I feel he caused her troubles in a way. She should have listened to her sister. Then she would still have her money and a job.

Manufactured drama because this couple wont confide in each other. Creating misunderstandings like this aggravates me.

So Im not the only one waiting for eng subs. Im VIP on a lot of sites so it really annoys me waiting for subs. Mango has this subbed to episode 3 and Im sure its been like this for weeks. I will have to rewatch from the start once its done because I cant remember a god damn thing.
Would it be quicker to learn Mandarin? Ive heard its the most difficult language to learn. Thai doesnt sound so easy either.

Im thinking more about human nature. People who are strongly attracted to each or have strong feelings tend to want to spend more time together not less. As usual in these romances, once the leads get together they seem to part company, even kissing doesnt seem important. Its just not natural at all.

They arent together. He asks her to be his girlfriend and she never gives him an answer. Then in episode 18 at the end of their dance after he kisses her, he tells her he is hungry and she goes down the stairs alone to get him food. She spots Qin Yao and completely forgets about Su Muyung. Qin Yao sees ML coming and decides to stir things up and Su Muyung storms off in a jealous rage. He then runs into Ouyang Psycho girl who promises to tell the truth about what happened back then. FL sees him go off in psychos car then a lot of reckless behaviour ensues.

Just completed episode 12. Im fairly certain something drastic had to happen to get FL out of the family so her and the ML could eventually get together. BUT I think the writers really screwed up here. The FL is a soft loving girl who is loved by her adoptive, no doubt there at all. She is after the child of their best friends. People they grew up with and loved. Im sure they would have been devastated by the FL parents deaths. Along comes a girl the ML doesnt like her, FL friend doesnt like her but this stranger comes along and says I like you I want to be your friend and FL ignores ML and bf supposedly opens her eyes to the crime of her parents death ??? I can understand her being upset at first. Even after remembering how lovingly ML parents have treated her, like their own child and even though ML drove her nuts he was still there helping her and rescuing her. FL believes they were like this out of guilt? They didnt tell her the truth because of the trauma and they were trying to protect her but she translated this to them hiding something? Wont listen to the people that raised her but totally gullible to strangers. Well I hope she gets her memories back and finds out the truth and I hope Ouyang psycho girl realises in the end that she did them a favour! FL just seems cruel and thoughtless. ML was crying his parents were crying. I hope this gets sorted out very quickly its very depressing.

I dont mind romance with a age gap if both are adults and I think the FL defitely is. I think at times she came across as childish but she is young and she is full of vitality. She is caring and responsible and a little crazy too and this is like a moth to a flame for our ML who is intelligent but lonely. What ruins the romance for me is all the cuts scenes that had me thinking what happened and what was being said made no sense. I thought a little awkwardness would be natural for the FL being young and Im sure the romance and physical relationship would have developed in a natural manner if they hadnt cut the scenes. Cinas sensorship is just too much. I remember being 21 and how I felt about the person I loved and what sort of physical relationship I wanted. A 15 yr gap can seem huge to a young person but the older you get smaller that gap is or seems.

I have continued watching this even though the FL character annoys the heck out of me. Like others Im also frustrated with the pregnancy storyline. The fact that she doesnt confide in the ML even though they have "slept" together and thats another thing that annoyed me. They did the deed and then act like nothing has happened? Shouldnt he be sleeping in her room now? How can she spend all night playing mahjong and the ML no know? Why does the FL get visits from Song Li and there isnt even a maid in attendance? Now she is busy getting into the treasury and throwing things all over the place. She is the only person who to my knowledge drops things and the last place she looks is on the floor. The key being one and Im sure she will check the ceiling for her bracelet. The script has turned these characters into idiots.

I would have to say thats the worst drama of 2020, but I think the script is the main problem. It was garbage.
