I think the reason we didn't get much backstory and more of jae-eun's thought is because this drama was mainly…
Yes, you're right. I think I sensed that this is how it's gonna be after ep 4 that's why I was okay with it. bet it has been a tricky choice for the writer but I guess he/she wanted us to understand nabi's character more, which worked for me.
If you were expecting this drama to give a moral lesson, this isn't for you, especially the ending. But if you try to watch it without any judgement, you're gonna enjoy it a great deal. Here, everyone is so judgemental of the characters, which makes me wonder, what will be their reaction to people who are similar to the leads of this drama in real life. Like, if you see someone's life is kinda messed up, from your point of view, yall gonna bash them and throw hate left and right? We didn't get to see much of Jae Eun's back story, but we saw most of nabi's and to me her attitude in relationships totally made sense. The way she was constantly hesitant and indecisive and sometimes even desperate. My only objection to this drama is that they didn't show us much about jae Eun's life, which I came to accept it after episode 4. I thought well, this can be another way of story telling. Apart from that I think everything was well executed and well put together. I liked the story, the dialogues always made sense, the cinematography was great, the osts were even better. I loved the scenes where nabi was sitting in front of her window at night, kinda processing everything that happened to her throughout the day. Anyways I think our world would have been a better place if we tried to be less judgemental and more understanding of people around us.
Nabi's Artwork is like a metaphor for their relationship, the 1st time it was Nabi who was really eager and happy…
Loved your comment, and loved all the metaphors they kept using all over the drama, the butterflies, the sculpture, everything. I absolutely loved the overall vibe and aesthetics of the drama.
Every time when DH & Nabi meets, he started saying bad things about JE....DH is clearly obsessed with Nabi...DH…
Exactly, I found this really annoying about him, and the fact that nabi doesn't see this shows that she's just desperate and she wants to think she found herself a better person than jae eun, which is not true. All three of them are fundamentally flawed characters. I don't see things between them as black and white. I think it's just like that in real life. You can't easily label people as the good one and the bad one. People are complicated. About nabi, I know that the majority hates her because she's almost always confused and indecisive but I found her really humane. She doesn't have it all figured. She doesn't have it all together. She is far from a perfect fl, and to me, it's the most interesting thing to watch. Most of the time, in kdramas, even when a lead's personal life is a mess, they show that she's doing great in uni or at school regardless, but in this one, they're actually showing that your personal life can effect your carreer and your professional life big time. I understand that people prefer to see a perfect fl who has it all together and kicks every one's ass, but I don't see what's so intriguing to watch about such a person.
Honestly, I think him not telling nabi that do hyuk was there that night doesn't indicate he's a bad person, and if he is, Do hyuk is just as bad. The night Do hyuk asked her out for the first time and kinda got rejected, when he came back and saw Jae eun, he told him some lies, he said that nabi told her she regrets his relationship with jae eun, but it wasn't true and she never told her such a thing. It's not like he tried to win her fair and square. I think jae eun's just awful at communicating his feelings, and of course he's at fault for confusing the girls he likes but he's not evil. In their relationship, I think nabi is also at fault. She doesn't try to be genuine and she doesn't communicate her feelings, it's like she's constantly after getting back at him and give him a taste of his own medicine. She keeps blaming everything on him and she's been treeting him like trash for almost half of the show.
I don't like Nabi for Dohyuk, he is too good for her.
Tbh, he's too good for anyone. He's just too good. To me his character is unrealistic. It's like he's an angel or something. Plus I didn't like it that he got kinda defensive when he saw Jae oun and came to stand between him and na bi. That was unnecessary. I always wonder why koreans think this kind of behavior is okay and normal, even for so called good guys. Like it's always normal for men to be suspicious and doubtful towards women. It's just annoying. Also, I don't think it's fair to say that na bi doesn't deserve him. What has she done? Yes, she's naive, but that doesn't make her an overall bad or mean human being. I think she deserves to be happy.

Not at all. The age difference here is minimal, not even a true noona romance. The ML is creepy. The whole episode…
Omg I agree with you so bad. These 2 episodes were full of unnecessary scenes of boring side characters who don't really have characters. There's something off about the writing. To me 20 to maybe 30 mins of each of two episodes were relevant and the rest was just unnecessary and added nothing to the table. I'm gonna watch it to the end though cause I really like both Rowoon and Won jin ah. But truth to be told I haven't watched a kdrama with such a disappointing writing and production for a long time. Most of the time even when the drama is cheesy and full of cliche, it has a good writing and the directing is good but this one... I just hope it gets better.
