All cheating men are nice guys and women are blamed (mistress) or at fault (wives). This show doesnt have any good secondary couple either.

This show could have been much better with more passion and less villany.

First lead couple dont have much chemistry, there are some good moments in between but overall their acting is not great. Secondly there are too many villans/vamps in this show who are portrayed in a stereotypical fashion and underdeveloped too. Many of their redemption and victimization at the end doesnt feel earned or justified. Plus ending felt rushed (there is nothing worse than such long lakhron i.e 17×1 1/2 hour long shows doing towards the end while wasting all the time available on nonsense drama extension).
Also plot execution was also weak inspite of having a premise with good potential
A good point is that side couple were quite interesting with decent chemistry

If there exist a 25 years later, they probably end up like her parents imo

-Fl family is kind of bad for supporting ml and putting fl at constant pressure. Most comments here i see are criticizing father, but to me the sister is the who comes out as most bad out of the trio. She is the one who carry out all the forcing and deception, but somehow off screen fl reconciles with her every damn time unlike father who actually gets the brunt in show. But still they are the least of shitty side characters of this show

-secondary couple (ex boyfriend's female friend and ml's friend) dont have chemistry at all. Secondary ml role is poorly developed -playboy suddenly turned sincere in a unconvincing manner. Secondary fl comes out extremely shallow for supporting ex boyfriend character is every dubious decision. It almost nerve racking at some point how surface level depth is there in her decisions. Plus they both have poor acting skills

-other people who cant act are vamp's father and the manager. It extremely frustrating to watch how naive and sincere they portrayed the manager and at the same time insincere by being easily seduced by vamp. Vamp's father was pretty much mute acting, he barely gives any reaction, similer to manager

- ml's sister is extremely clingy character right uptill 1 episode before her death. She is similer to vamp in that aspect, i even thought she was the vamp before real vamp started manupulating people. Similarly her aunt is also one sided antagonistic useless character

-coming to ex boyfriend, he is the most obnoxious character of this show. he is even most clingy character of the show. he shows many double standard, he doesnt show any love for his wife uptill her death, but after her death suddenly he loves her. Same in case of daughter - first time his wife faked pregancy he didnt show any love for supposed child, but second time when it actually happened, he was all tragic daddy mode. He even asked his wife he want both his daughter and fl (peak of indecisiveness). Plus all this time he clinged on fl in all shitty situation, then he suddenly turned not clingy is final few episode...extremely unconvincing. He is the main reason why his wife died tbh...since he is the one who bitched to vamp which lead to vamp killing her. How he got a happy ending leaves a bad taste in mouth. Also he have not chemistry with his wife character's actress. He for some reason have chemistry with fl's sister more than anyone in the show...which is really weird

-vamp was second most obnoxious, she is clingy, gets extremly lucky in every situation (like how the cams stop working...lol) , people are shown to be too dumb to catch her and she takes the meaning of love yourself by being more clingy and crazy and killing characters
It is extremely unsatisfying how she survives the show and is also forgiven by many character (especially when ml forgives her after torturing fl for her deeds). I am speachless how this show tries to elevate her by giving more emotion to her and make her a hack. She never really change either.

Both vamp and ex boyfriend character makes this show kind of unwatchable for me. They are the worst elements of this show.

-character from vineyard were the most decent people of this show (and that's not really a high bar). Even they have problems, but still better than most other side character. The aunty maid from vinyard had some decent character development, but still sometimes off and on shallowness remains. The child and maid husband were decent for their roles.

Finally coming to ml and fl. Personally they have a lot of chemistry with each other (compared to other couples of this show its like day and night difference). I actually continued watching this show mostly because of them. But plot takes a nose dive after the amnesia arc. The write up for them are so bad towards the final stretch. ML was the only person of this show who suspected vamp for her wrong doing, but then the writers destroyed his character by suddenly making him vamp's puppet. After few provocation by vamp, he not only tortured fl and even started kissing vamp to show revenge. Since amnesia arc, at many instances he showed negligence towards fl too and he never trusted fl throughout the show. FL for most part is not bad, but she is too easy to forgive ml and makes herself too much approchable for ex boyfriend which was a bit frustrating.

I came to this show fully aware and wanting for slap and kiss. But this show portrayed that too much poorly. The point which makes hate love is so attractive is because it shows devotion (even in slap) and bring chance for character development. If u do it this poorly to make it look edgy then u are just loosing the point of it.

Ending of this show is very rushed and unsatisfying even though it has 18 one and half hour episodes to it. Most of runtime is given to shitty drama, how ml convinced fl in the end is laughable.

Criticism in comments and reviews kind of gave me a misleading impression that they are aimed at slap and kiss part. But the actual problem of this show is something else. Regardless of whether ml is abusive or not, Almost all the side characters of this show is absolute shit show.

Even if u are watching it for slap and kiss dynamics, it not really worth it. Sure, main leads have great chemistry, but side characters make it unwatchable. Many of them even were acting poorly like vineyard manger, vamp's father or ex boyfriend's female friend.

I wonder how the older version compares to this. Some comments said this is better version so i watched it. But i cant really fathom how can they make this worser that it already is with same story.

Chemistry between main couple ( and Even secondary one) is off chart. Even the single dad was spreading pheromones lol. Almost all of character showed great acting skill
In terms of main leads storyline, it almost perfectly done (right amount of slap and kiss, right amount of flak by fl towards ml for redemption and right amount of after steam too...plus there are the kids and pregnancy used in a perfect mannar without over anguishing )

Only problem bit of unnecessary scene like the ones between ml and vamp and character relationship other than romance is not as well developed eg - I wish the step brother relationship with each other was explored deeper, there was lot of potential there. Vamp is too shallow too, plus her suger daddy villan was introduced too late.

this one have the average chemistry between characters not just main couple but for secondary couple too. But all the characters individually has great writeup material. Only thing is romance feel a bit superfical. I wish that part was more convincing because plot is much more refined (though some places were frustrating like piak's second chance and grandma not getting treatment).

FL had chemistry with everyone except ML. Also I felt ML had more chemistry with FL is last 2 episode when they were not doing hate love, than entire span of this drama. Also the scene where they slept with each other very unnatural and forced and nonsensical. This show is good at almost everything except slap and kiss. Probably should watch it for friend's bond, strong female lead, sincerity, redemption, well developed supporting cast etc, But not for slap and kiss or romance per say.

Not being funny at all. They were not really following the rules in last game. Also except for like a mini intro at the beginning and last play there was no squid game related stuff in this drama. They could replace it with anything else wouldn't make any difference. They should have picked up some korean 2 man game instead of team game (2 or more player)

How is this compared to manga? Does it have a lot of alteration?
I was excited to watch this at first, but seeing it is just 10 episode of 30 mins is kind of disappointing (unless there is a sequal eventually)

The series heading is a lie. There is no squid game. It was WWE trying to pass it of as squid game. I heard director fought for retaining the name, makes me wonder has he even read his own story
