I endured 16 episodes of this drama thinking I could finish it but no. I thought it would be better once the leads start to show that they like each other. I was left disappointed. The first half of the drama was very draggy with repetitive scenes, it got really tiring to watch. I was waiting for the ML to melt and stop being a jerk after the first kiss but he is still manipulative and controlling. I don't like any of the characters in this drama except for Yi Ming. I think the vital factor for a light and mushy drama to be interesting is to make the characters at least pleasant.

the acting is awesome but the plot is too fast-paced, i wasn't given enough time to like (or at least understand) any of the characters

sure. the idol is chosen to be the main character and the actually talented actor has to be the second lead. sigh

I cried my eyeballs out. The character I truly love the most is ML's father. The words he said at the end in the letter he wrote were just beautiful.

It ended :'(( although the plot is not the best, the chemistry between the main couple won my heart. imo, the best romance drama is the one with the strongest second lead syndrome but i got none in this one. this could easily be the best drama i've watched if du lei is as likeable as yuan shuai.

There is really no need for YS to lie to JJ. Even if he needs to pretend like he went out of China, there is absolutely no reason for him to not tell her the truth, especially when it involves the death of her own father. She deserves to know who the real villain is. This is just plain disrespectful. Is it so hard to just trust JJ and let her in on the plan? YS basically made her cry and put her in danger, just so he could be the knight in shining armor. What a condescending way of protecting someone you love.
