Its no wonder that drama are mostly targeted towards women. We all know that women are housewives and stay at home, while men are working and don't have that much time for TV. Women can watch dramas while doing laundry,cleaning or ironing clothes.
I have 3 guys and 2 women in my top 5. I would like to add one more actress, but I can't.

Still haven't watched Hana Kimi 2012.

I watched all the others and I have to say, they all have their strong points.

HanaKimi 2007 was just too silly for me, but I loved Naktsu, Nanba-senpai and the Ghost-guy. Just for those guys I finished that drama. Ohh and I liked the few scenes with Yu Shirota, the rival.

HanaKimi Taiwan, is my fav so far. Its funny, but not silly. The characters are very nice portrayed( some overacted). What I didn't like was the open ending.

To the Beautiful You, they couldn't have spoiled it more than this. I really loved it while watching, but for me I watched it as a diffrent story, not as a HanaKimi remake. As you said too many things are missing. they did it like: Hey you all know the story anyways, so we won't show you what you love about the story, but give you more....ehm...glamour....ehm...hottie!

Take both Crows Zero movies. They do let us think that those gangs are great. GTO is also kind of glamorizing that bad guys.

49 Days had one of the crappiest ends ever! I prefere the staring at each other ending more than that dumb 49 Days ending thingy.

You mentioned nearly all of my fav revenge damas, but the best should be Bridal Mask. That drama was a hit and the acting superb.
Revenge drama all start great, but end in a disaster like May Queen. They really waste the talent of the child/teen actors.
One really nice revenge drama is Prosecuter Princess. The revenge is not the main theme, but worth the watch.

Manga is the best, but anime was suprisingly good, too.

Oh, they have a tawain drama for Peach Girl, but I didn't watch it.

Only once did I read a story where the second male got the girl. Or was he the main? Just go and read the manga of Peach Girl or watch the anime. The second gets the girl.

Hooked from the first one on. Mine was Goong and I ended up in misstaking Yoon Eun Hye with Park Shin Hye( because of the Hye) and watched Tree of Heaven. It was a drama downtime, but got me to a site with Kimi Wa Petto......MatsuJun as a dog was the oneway ticket....

I also hope that this won`t be a copy, but I really want to see Jiro Wang in this one.
