It's adapted from a manga , so there are supposed to be some stuffs that won't make any sense. And I don't think this show tried showing the family enjoyed being poor, it was more like being poor is not always about sufferings, poor people have their own ways to share happiness and go on with their lives.
Well I didn't expect this show to make sense in the first place since they over exaggerated poverty, family of 7 , oblivious mother and such comic set ups 😅
