Let me just tell ya, the recent season was epic, my anticipation for the next season is so high🤩

Omg yes, I even followed it when it was still ongoing on manga and when it also finished

It's a popular anime genre that generally contain themes appealing to that demographic (Like friendship) , and a broad plot that is explored as the story goes on, examples of this are Demon Slayer (which has similar vibes of FOF), Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, etc.

Gotta agree, for now I'm just enjoying watching it because of the visuals, cinematography, and the characters. However, the plot really needs to thicken up because it's quite decent.

But their format as I've observed is that they're following a generic shounen type of genre, which typically starts out slow/decent and picks up in the middle, so I expect the plot to thicken up midway.
