This drama was mainly popular in Korea because of all the references and throwbacks. I would recommend this drama for those who have some understanding of Korean history and culture and who aren't expecting a typical Kdrama rom com.
Story: it's fun and thrilling without being difficult to follow. It's a mix of office drama, politics, family, rivalry, and romance set in the late 1990s, making the cliches seem fresh.
Romance: it's not the main point, but it's sure impactful (and you can tell it's directed by a woman). Not sure where all the negative reviews about the leads' chemistry are coming from - maybe we're all too sexually desensitized to understand the simple attraction between two normal people getting to know eachother. The ML is confident and expressive without being overbearing - he actually likes the FL as a person, which means their 'chesmistry' is more like friendship. The FL wants to focus on her career (remember it's the turn of the century and she and most women are still fighting for equality in the workplace). She has a family to take care of and her own dreams to follow, and the ML not taking first priority is a given. Thay being said, she does open up to him, like any straight woman probably would because he is fine af.
Characters: there are so many characters but it doesn’t feel like too many. Everyone has a purpose and flaws and desires and there are tons of great cameos and guest roles as well. The 2nd romance between the MLs friend and FLs sister deserves it's own seperate drama.
Final thought: those who like sparkly, fun kdramas with sexy scenes will probably not enjoy this drama. I found this to be quite different from most kdramas and for me, it made it a great watch

Has anyone ever noticed how he is the most respectful kisser ever? I've watched all his dramas and seriously every kiss scene (including bts) is insanely restrained. Like, it's hot, but he is so tuned in to his co star. Is it just me???

That's a fair and a valid point and this is your choice. Thank you for at least admitting what a lot of trolls…
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and at the end of the day we're all human. I don't love seeing him promoting again, but I won't hate on anyone who is rooting for him

I actually understand why you feel uncomfortable with the age gap, and you have every right to decide not to support…
Definitely. He was proven innocent by the legal systems in south korea, so my personal opinions are simply that and not saying he's a criminal

I don't like or support KSH anymore due to the fact that (at the very least) he dated a 19 year old girl when he was in his 30s. That's not wrong or illegal. I just personally find it morally unpleasant and lost a lot of respect for him. That being said, a pedophile by definition is an adult who is sexually attracted to pre pubescent children. That is not the case here, even in the worst case situation (having a relationship with a 15 year old). So I won't watch his dramas or support his shows, but I also won't call him something that he's not.

I will say this: if you are a fan of Jung Haein you will not want to miss this drama. He is fine af in it. Jisoo was a pleasant surprise so don't avoid if (like me) you're worried a kpop star can't make it worth your while. It's not the greatest show but the leads are hot and the drama is decent
