I finished episode 2 and i want her for real to not be the reincarnation of his first love and that he will love…
A part of me wants the first love to be evil (just based on ep 2 ending). But have the FL be someone different who will ACTUALLY love him? Maybe the first love worked with the step-brother? Is that too sadistic?
I think we again got fl with zero fighting power poking her nose everywhere. I really like the visuals and everything…
I think she's got plenty of fight in her. So she's not taking on supernatural beings head-on with cool martial arts moves. But if we learned anything from the ending of the first episode it's that she's incredibly smart.
My friend even said right before the credits, "Oh damn, she's good."
I know I'm not the first, but I can't help comparing this show to Hotel Del Luna. Except with Del Luna, the show had so much potential and didn't use it. But with Mystic Pop-Up Bar, it had a cute premise but is using every ounce of potential we didn't know it had. I love every second of it.
And it's not just because of the plot and characters (although they are KILLING IT), but because the world is so detailed. It feels fleshed out and lived in (no pun intended). Our main trio are certainly the best part, but I love that the world doesn't feel flat like it's built just for them. Instead they captured the feeling of the characters navigating a bigger world. If that makes any sense.
Look, I love a cheesy rom-com as much as the next person, but I'm a little tired of the mean/arrogant/rich-guy-with-a-secret-heart-of-gold trope.
Let's have some more Kang Bae's who are adorable and awkward and would do anything to help someone in pain.
Let's have more Chief Gwi's who are willing to suffer 500 years of punishment just to silently serve beside the woman he loves and help her complete her punishment so she doesn't go to hell.
Forget the love triangles, let's have adorable families that give love advice to their adopted part-timer even though can't even handle their own love lives.
Can someone tell me how did the prince's mother not be reincarnated as a grade C reincarnation or at least a grade…
Remember she said that Weol Ju wrongly blamed the royal family for her mother's death, or something like that. She still is partly to blame, but I think it was mostly the prince's friend who is responsible for the death.
I love that we all came in expecting a slightly weird love story between a supernatural woman and a younger guy.
Instead we got two hilarious spirit guides who are practically married but refuse to admit their feelings, and an adorably awkward part timer who was somehow adopted by said spirits. They make a hilarious and adorable little family. I absolutely love it!
Hopefully this won't have a love triangle...please??
Honestly it seems more like the two spirits who run the bar will get together, and YSJ's character is almost like an adoptive son. I get more mother/son vibes between him and HJE's character, especially with the dumplings this episode. Plus, he's an orphan so them becoming a little family would make more sense narratively. Fingers crossed!
By the way, the only drama I can think of where the destiny/childhood thing was used in a meaningful way, is Healer.(vague…
I really like that it was focused on how their parents were friends. Yes they played together as kids, but the parents had the real connection. Their fathers died together in an "accident" and the main plot was them finding out the reason behind it.
And they handled the "break up" thing really well too. It wasn't a "we can't be together because of reasons" it was "things are getting really insane, so we can't be together now. But once we take down these guys, then we can live happily ever after."
Bonus part: He actually follows her show enough that he WRITES ON FANBOARDS. Where can I get a Lee Yeon?

Is that too much to ask?
