5 is where it finally starts to get a little funnier! Jun Se is so amazing, right?

Minoz!!! I don't know what I am going to do, I am so in love with the second lead Jun Se! It's like Lee Seung Gi means nothing to me, Jun Se is that sweet and sexy! Jun Se is so thoughtful and kind, he just melts my heart!!!

I wanted her to be with Shi Hoo cause she made him happy. But I think I ended up hating her too much by the end of the drama to care about her being happy :p what I like about SI is how the two relationships mirror each other. The end of episode 3 is where it starts to get interesting :)

Personal Taste I kind of hated him! In cheongdamdom Alice, I actually kind of wanted him to win! He and the lead girl were much better suited for each other than her and Park Shi Hoo! But I really wanted Park Shi Hoo's character to be happy too. I am really hoping what ever Ji Suk does next has him getting the girl in the end! On Shining Inheritance I absolutely love it when Eun Sung calls Jun Se oppa! It makes me happy ;p

Haha, well if you ever do finish it, I promise you will feel conflicted! Kim Ji Suk played such a lovable character! It is my fourth drama with him in it, and I am seriously dying for him to play a lead role where he actually gets the girl!! It's torture :p

She ends up with the childhood friend!! It was so utterly heartbreaking, the way it played out. You end up loving the new guy so so much, and she just left him like he was nothing! It was so depressing, and yet you are still happy for the childhood friend. Such a conflicting show!

Awwww, that's a huge bummer you can't get into it :( I'm having the opposite problem, I can't seem to make myself do school work by the time I get home. All I want to do is watch dramas! Hopefully you'll come across something that will inspire the drama nerd inside you soon :)

I don't think I have watched any dramas where I like the second lead more than main lead! I am more likely to want her just to be with both :p I think I Need Romance 2012 is the closest I have come to being disappointed with who the lead chose. Or Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I really, really loved Jae Shin! With Shining Inheritance I really just don't like LSG at all either!!! Though, I think with episode 6 it's about to start being a lot funnier :)
I want to watch this cause of Song Hye Kyo, but I think I am going to wait til it's over and someone can spoil whether the ending is good or not for me :) That's the only way I would be willing to invest time in something like this :p

I've kind of gone back and forth with how I feel about it. But I am on episode 6 and it is finally getting funny!! I am just worried cause right now I like the second lead a million times more than Lee Seung Gi!! I never would have thought that was possible, but Jun Se is ugh an amazingly good guy, he melts my heart :p

I am hoping that FBND lives up to the hype everyone is giving it!! That's how I felt about Cheongdamdong Alice, everyone kept raving about it and I was dying to watch it! But in the end it was a little bit of a let down. Park Shi Hoo was ridiculously adorable, but the storyline was just so mean to him! And yes, I absolutely love watching dramas with you, it's so nice to have someone to come and "omo" with :p

This one will be my longest drama at 28 episodes, I can't believe it :p Boys Over Flowers and Goong were 25 and they felt so long and drawn out, I am hoping SI doesn't feel the same way! Though, I am glad it is so long, just because I really, really, REALLY want to start Flower Boy Next Door, and I think I will finally be able to once I finish this drama, since FBND ends on Tuesday of next week! FINALLY :p That stinks you have deadlines upcoming :( I have a paper I need to get turned in today that I have not even started on :p I am such a procrastinator!!
How did Coffee Prince not make it onto the list of best kisses? I mean it had the absolute best ones! But thanks…
I would love it if I could get into a Taiwanese drama. I have given several a shot. I was dying to watch When Love Walked In, but man that dubbing, I just can't get used to it :(
1. Female 2. I think this correlation is not standard to Asian dramas, but dramas from all countries. A study…
6. I don't think my biases affect the rating of a drama. I have seen dramas with my top 5 that I just have not liked. Yoon Eun Hye's Take Care of the Young Lady, for example.
7. I make it no secret that I won't watch something without romance in it. The same goes for the books I read, but I don't think this is necessarily a female thing. I run a book page, and we have quite a few guys on there that say the same thing.
I really enjoyed reading your article! I do think that in general, dramas are marketed toward women. Whenever I come across the elusive male viewer, it's always interesting to see the breakdown of what they enjoyed about a drama versus what I enjoyed.
1. Female
2. I think this correlation is not standard to Asian dramas, but dramas from all countries. A study done for American day time soaps: 26% of women watch daytime soaps, whereas only 7% of men watch them. Add to that number the fact that women spend on average 4.66 hours a week in front of the tv more than men, and the bias becomes clearer.
3. With the chances skewed that a woman would be more likely to sit in front of the TV, I think that yes, dramas do tend to be targeted more towards women than men.
4. My gender ratio is 2 women to 3 men. However, if the list were expanded past 5, there would be more women that I like on my list than men. Even still, the men on my list take precendence over the women that didn't make it there.
5. I am rather shallow, there have been dramas I have not wanted to watch because the cast just wasn't what I wanted to look at for 16+ hours.

Man, your description almost has me wanting to give it another shot!! But I don't know if I could do the sadness. Have you looked at any of Lee Jun Ki's other dramas? I really want to watch something with him in it now that you've told me how good he was!! I am so glad the drama was that perfect for you ;)
As for Shining Inheritance, it took about 5 episodes before LSG became a bigger part. He is still a jerk, but at least he gets more screen time. The show isn't really sad to me, but the lead girl does go through a lot of hardships!! LSG is sooooo well dressed in every episode :p
