i'm guessing you're talking about what happened between in woo & seo joon. they were at a cafe or restaurant. some people were talking rudely about in woo. in woo and them started a fight then. kang seo joon tried to stop them from fighting but then a sound of glass shattering made him uncomfortable as it's triggering for his traumatic past. anywhoo, after the fight, him & in woo left the place. later, in woo released a statement that him appearing with bruises was due to seo joon beating him up. seo joon tried to protect him from public backlash so he didn't comment on it immediately. he tried to contact in woo who didn't pick his call. seo joon even went to get the cctv footage before anyone else so that people don't find out in woo lied. in woo was being famous from this scandal. he only agreed to meet seo joon after he threatened to release the cctv footage. seo joon offered to keep the truth hidden & suggested him to tell the public that it was just a fight between two friends, that they both hit each other, that seo joon wasn't alone to blame, but in woo refused and kept telling seo joon to let him enjoy his fame for once. seo joon decided not to protect in woo anymore and released the footage & the truth about the scandal was finally out.

okay, i've finally read your comment. idk why i didn't earlier xD i think keeping the butterflies kinda represents holding on to a love and setting them free means letting go of that love. although most of jae eon's relationships are temporary, he wanted to continue staying with nabi & him not wanting to set the butterflies free is a reflection of that feeling.
