I don't like xianxia so it feels good to know that she's not a fan of that genre. Maybe she also realize there's nothing unique about that genre anymore lol
Honestly, I started enjoying Zi's dramas as a fan since "Love Endures." I do not like "Lost You Forever" as much as I like her dramas that aired in 2024. I'm just tired of seeing her being used as a tool to propel many of those actors to fame. As a fan, I want dramas where the story revolves around her, not ones where even the writer prefers another character. She has been first billed in most of her dramas, but her male leads are usually the ones who play the most complex roles. That's why I really started liking her dramas from "Love Endures," and I really hope "Flourished Peony" won't disappoint me. I'm honestly tired of seeing people comment that this and that carried her drama, and most especially those male fandoms attacking her after they get popular. I'm really tired. Someone made wishing for your fave's spotlight a crime. If that's how it is, then I'm happy to be that criminal. I hope for more projects that give Yang Zi the spotlight and not use her as a tool.
