Well, that's a very hard question xD Everyone is different so I really can't know for sure how you're going to feel. I know that The Untamed has caused a really strong effect on many people, which is great ;P Unfortunately it didn't have such a strong effect on me (probably because I had already watched the donghua and read the novel last year, so, just like you've said, I nitpicked on the differences and couldn't accept some changes). However, I was in Mdzs "rabbit hole" last year :P I was absolutely obsessed with that story when I watched the first season of the donghua (to be honest, I'm still really obsessed with it xD ). However, only a couple months after the donghua ended, I started watching Guardian and I was totally able to enjoy it :D So being obsessed with Mdzs didn't keep me from loving Guardian. Also, I've been pretty obsessed with Guardian (yes, for over a year, shame on me!) and I've been able to love other dramas as well, The Untamed included :) But well, that's just me (maybe my heart is just too big and that's why I'm able to love many stories at the same time :P) and everyone is different, so I can't really know how you're going to feel about it. You can try start watching it and if you feel like you're not enjoying it to the fullest, put it on-hold and try start watching it again in another time later, after your enthusiasm towards The Untamed has died down a little :) I hope I was able to help you and I really hope you can enjoy Guardian, whenever you feel like watching it ^^

You're very welcome :) Well, due to censorship issues, the drama turned out very different from the novel, so we should think of them as almost two different stories having in common the same characters (because these actors seem like they jumped right out of the book!). I watched the drama first and then read the novel :) It helps understand a lot better the meaning behind some of the scenes and makes the drama even more interesting :D I think it would be a good idea to start with the drama, specially because the novel's translation is not finished yet. So maybe when you finish the drama, the translation will be almost over and you won't have to wait for too long to know the ending ;) But that's just my opinion, honestly, I think it's fine either way :) I hope I was able to help you a little :)
