Han Ji Pyung's character is written like a main lead's isn't he? Hahaha but don't get confused or weirded out if NJH wasn't seen that much in the 1st ep (I've seen some tweets like this). I think it's necessary to show Han Ji Pyung's backstory because that is the backbone of the romance between Seo Dal Mi and Nam Do San. He's technically the wingman here but what will it cost him???? lol i'm rooting for him sm
it's really interesting to me how some people are portraying juri as this villanous character and hate her so…
Juri literally acts like a real human. Her actions are very relatable and if I were to be on her shoes, I would do the same. For that, it means she's a very well-written character. And yes, I like her too!!!
It takes an incredible amount of energy for me to say this:I've seen dramas in which childhood tropes were either…
I agree! The childhood trope is literally a part of the story build up and tells a lot about the development of the characters, unlike other dramas who put in that trope just for the sake of having it and then irresponsibly label it as destiny.
Does anyone get the feeling that the hospital director is the murderer of ST and KT's mother? Just the way they…
One of the reasons why KT brought ST back to their hometown is to get him treated so I'm assuming that the psychiatrist knows about ST's trauma. From how I see it, he just really tries to break the ice between him and ST to build rapport and make progress :D
yall I hate to say it but I'm convinced Mun Young killed her mom, even if it was accidently
My guess is suicide as the cause of her mother's death. Based on the flashbacks, she seemed very unstable. Moreover, when the patient who mistook Mun Young as her daughter was on the phone, the camera momentarily focused on her wrist with cuts (probably trying to confuse the viewers who she really is). MY's father probably blames MY for his wife's death although I still don't have a guess as to how MY contributed to my theory about her mom's suicide. One thing's for sure though, MY is extremely traumatized and guilty (?) bc of her mother's death.
This is just my own theory tho! but honestly the mom could be alive still lmao who knows i cannot really predict this drama HAHAHA it's so good tho
It does directly translate to PTSD. I do agree DID does seem to fit her condition but at times it doesn’t too?…
Thank you so much for answering my question about the translation! Then I guess, they are really referring to PTSD. I agree with what you said about the unlikeliness of DID as diagnosis because the new "persona" that appears is only fitting for the triggering situation and is resolved once her goal is achieved. The only reason why I was confused is because I have never heard of this PTSD symptom since PTSD's dissociative symptoms often appear as lapses in memory and flashbacks about the traumatic experience. It's a very interesting take though, and I would love to read on the scientific basis of this PTSD manifestation.
I’m really enjoying this drama right now! Although, I am curious. To those who can understand Chinese, does it really directly translate to PTSD? Because from how I see it, DID is a more fitting diagnosis and term for her condition, unless the drama is referring to the dissociative subtype of PTSD (which I’m not very familiar with but from what I know also manifests dissociative symptoms which may not necessarily refer to DID). But of course, both conditions can stem from childhood trauma and may even be comorbities. Plus, drama description also says that the condition is DID. I’m just really curious if it really translates to PTSD since clinically, PTSD and DID are two different disorders hehe
To those who are enjoying this show, I encourage you to read the webtoon! In my opinion, the webtoon is so much better than the drama but the drama is good by itself. I know they had to tweak the story to fit into 12 episodes.
This drama is so beautifully made. Probably one of the best modern dramas if not the best in terms of acting. Kris Fan was so amazing in here, I instantly became a fan. Zhang Ze Yi’s eyes say a thousand words without speaking. I love how realistic this was. Underrated!!!!!!
This week’s eps were so much better than last week’s! What happened at the end of episode 4 was the thing I expected to happen by the end of episode 2. If episodes 1-4 were squeezed in 2 episodes with 1 hour and 30 minutes each, the pilot episodes would have been soooo amazing! Anyway, I’m liking this better now and I hope the pacing speeds up a little! I’m excited to go deep into the plot :D
I'm sorry but have you read the webtoon? If you read all the episodes so far and interpreted it that way then…
I agree with this one. I've been following the webtoon for two years now and it never occurred to me that way. If a girl finds confidence in wearing make up then let her be. If she feels safer when she's wearing make up, then it's better to wear it. Suho knows about her secret and accepts her that way. He has always supported her with her choices and compliments her even when she's not wearing any make up. Jugyeong wears her make up more for herself than conforming to societal beauty standards. True Beauty shares the same principle as My ID is Gangnam Beauty except that make up is the theme in this one rather than plastic surgery.
This is just my own theory tho! but honestly the mom could be alive still lmao who knows i cannot really predict this drama HAHAHA it's so good tho
Thank you again for replying! :)
