I doubt that Tang Qi will turn dark.Tang Qi never even intentionally wanted to hurt her, as his 'past bully',…
On the preview, TQ is very sus of SCC. Even if he's not aware of his feelings, he is aware that he is being played for a fool, and TQ expression turned very dark. It's the beauty of Tan Jianci's subtle facial expressions that tells the whole story. If that isn't a dark TQ then I don't know what that is. ðŸ¤
The kiss was very sweet and beautiful. BUT now, I can't wait for dark Tang Qi, as he plots to find out the truth! Will SCC will get a taste of her own medicine?! 🤔ðŸ¤
Fight over characters in FILTER? LOL! Yeah, I don't see that happening. I really don't get it. It's not like FILTER…
JC-T fans are actually really nice and uplifting. There are outliners and seasangs of course...I've encounter a few of them. But they don't represent the rest of the fandom.
But the criticism of SCC character has nothing to do with Li Landi's performance or her as a person. She has acted with Tan as a child star in two of Tan previous works, so his fans are very excited to see them reunited. They both have similar energy and makes everyone very happy. Heck, even thier smiles are the similar shapes. And it's freaking cute to hear her call Tan...Tan Ge.
Tang Qi of course had is fair share of criticism too. Fans of both are going to discuss thier realtionship dynamics, both positively and negatively. It's actually really healthy as it means that the creators of the drama are doing a good job, and Tan and Landi are nailing their roles to invite these strong emotions.
Other than the few people who has been aggressively downgrading the drama and calling it trash after one episode, everyone on this comment section has been great and the discussions has been really enjoyable.
Hmmmm...I'm passed the misunderstanding point now. Su Miao arc was misunderstanding that led to a prank that went to far. Fang Jin arc was an attempt to do good that led to a series of uncontrollable encounters. QST arc is just moving towards cruelty. Tang Qi worldview is breaking apart and I donk't now how SCC could ever make it up to him.
What really bothers me is SCC thinking TQ love and longing is a joke. Like he's supposed to forget everything at once...even though she suspects it, she so dense and hasn't concluded that it was her that contributed to his colorblindness.
Filter was never marketed to be a fulffy no brainer drama...so I don't understand why pple are complaining and coming on calling it trash.
I don't waste energy downgrading a drama I have no interest in. I've dropped many dramas, but I don't degrade people who enjoy them.
If you're an avid K-drama watcher, you've likely seen many tropes and storytelling devices commonly used in K-dramas. It's very apparent that Tong Hua has improved her screenwriting skills, and the director is taking some creative risks.
After the airing of LYF, Tong Hua was invited to speak about the future of drama writing, where she discussed portraying complex ideas in idol dramas. With Filter, you can see that she continues to push these boundaries, and I'm here for it.
She's not a school bully, so far it was all misunderstandings. They show one side first and then the other, so…
The writer of this drama is the acclaimed novelist and screenwriter Tong Hua. This is her first romantic comedy story/screenplay. She is well known to write complex themes and using idol dramas and novels structures to explore those themes. If you are looking for a no brainer drama, probably move along. Filter tackles women empowerment and worth by exploring societal ideals, pretty privilege, and concepts of filters (digital and psychological) through satire, slapstick and melodrama.
Lost me with the ridiculous slapstick comedy in ep 7. Definitely not what I expected or am interested in.
I do love that they tried different kinds of comedy. The first arc pays tribute to Stephen Chow humor and satire. This current arc is very slapstick, has a little of Charlie Chaplin nonsense. I'm wondering what will happen in the third arc. I think in the fourth arc, we will enter melodrama territory, so I'm preparing tissues.
