you all are missing the entire point of this kdrama and it shows. this kdrama tells us that revenge isn't a good thing sometimes and that it can destroy someone on the way. dongju who was happy in the beginning, he had love of. his life, a good job position, he had sister, he was living a nice and decent life, he was happy. but then he choose a path of revenge because they tried to kill him. on the way, he lost his sister, he found out that the person who tried to kill him was his father, then after he became close to his father, they killed him off too. he got his revenge but for what? for the price of losing everything he loved and cared about. of course revenge won't feel satisfying or good. when he let yeom go, he sat in the chairman seat and started crying. becoming a chairman for the price of lives of his loved ones? was that worth it? absolutely not. revenge isn't a good thing!! and if you look at it, the revenge was pretty good. yeom who has been eating only quality homemade food and only drinking the most expensive wine in the beautiful house, was locked up and was given junk food and tap water to drink. and dongju fed him just like he fed goldfish. in the end the only thing yeom wanted was to die in his house. he gave dongju all of his possessions just so he can be let go. but when he was let go, his house was turned into a kindergarten. in the end, he got locked up again, in the prison where he will rot and die. it's a perfect ending for him.
dongju going to the boat to get some rest was realistic too. he is tired of everything. everything he has done made him feel miserable and he just wants to take a break. the mother and son who took over the company, they are stupid, the company will fall apart because of them and that's their ending. taeyun dying was sad though but it is bad karma for his mother. overall this drama had a realistic ending. if you are here for revenge, you won't get that. and i love how this series portrays revenge as a bad thing. dongju is a good person, he never killed anyone, yet he was accused how people he loved were killed by him. revenge will never feel good for a good person like him.
