saebom high is so weird to turn on jukyung just bc she chose to change her appearance by wearing make up. the video spread literally showed she was being bullied like isn't that the same universe where se yeon was persecuted for his alleged "bullying"
Yeah...it was weird how they stopped showing up halfway through. There were still some inside the building but…
same. in the original webtoon, they end up moving to the mountains because the apartment got overrun by monsters. it feels weird that the apartment did not end up attracting more monsters when they made a lot of noise because of many gun fighting scenes.
i felt like they should've explained the desires of the people turning into monsters like in the webtoon. without it, this adaptation looks like a typical apocalyptic story.
Meanwhile has an avatar of Hwasa that used the n-word in her Beyoncé cover, wore blackface to parody Uptown Funk…
1. It's true Mamamoo did blackface before, but they apologized to the black community and never did it again. In fact, they are among the few of Kpop groups who are supportive of the BLM movement. 2. Hwasa only said the n-word once out of ignorance because she was given the explicit lyrics of Irreplaceable. Of course, she was not fluent in English so she read the lyrics off of Melon without knowing the meaning of it. She never said it again. 3. Hwasa never called herself an "African unnie". A fan called her that. How can she call herself unnie when she is the maknae of the group. 4. What Hwasa wore on the show is a kaftan, mind you it's not even exclusive to one race. To be specific, it is called a Korean Nida which can be worn in saunas. She just wants to pull off a sauna look leave her alone.
I guess I may have gone overboard by calling a show outrightly racist, but you don't have to spread misinformation about a person just to prove your point. I just can't tolerate shows that use cultural appropriation as a device for comedy. The writers and the pdnims should've done better especially in this political climate where people can get killed just for the color of their skin. It just furthers the spread of ignorance in Korea on issues about racism and colorism. We can't deny that anti-blackness is still a problem in Korean society.
