Every night I go to bed so excited for something to be resolved in the next episodes only to open up this page in the morning and see everyone ranting that it got worse lol

I know I should watch everything but I skipped CGH's scenes in the last episode because he is so unhinged right now

I think the conversation between SYT and NH was the first rational no miscommunication conversation between a man and woman in the show thus far lol

I know they are making fun of tropes in dramas but the miscommunication trope is my least favorite and to see it being used so much is a little grating. At this point the FL isn't even listening to the ML's words. I wonder if she just hears white noise when other characters talk. I still really like the show but I'm ready for something new to happen...

The original script had the ML as more of a morally gray selfish type of hero. We don't fully know his motivation as the modern FL only read portions of the script which showed his bad side. It seems originally the screenwriters wanted a very over the top dramatic cliche drama with tragedy and betrayals. It's meant to be ridiculous and the FL even comments on how can this villain be the ML. Then the rewrites start happening

I love it so far. I am confused though how the FL went from dying over and over in the first episode and not caring at all, to being super scared of death in the 4th. Her character seems to be flip flopping between strong and determined and terrified of dying even though she knows what happens when she dies. I guess that's my only minor complaint

Unfortunately her character is intended to be this way. The novel is worse, she literally stares at herself in the mirror all day and thinks about how good looking she is. There is some growth though and she becomes better later in the show.

I just started watching and this might be a dumb question, but I'm curious how exactly is Jiang Xu related to the Emperor? In 5 episodes I've gathered that he grew up in the palace, (obviously has the title of prince), and has saved the Emperor before when they were younger. But he has no parents? It's probably revealed in later episodes through conversation but I'm trying to place everyone's connections.

The way his face changed, they wanted us to know that he fell at first sight. He also makes a big deal over "not being seduced by her beauty". Seems like he was just trying to convince himself lol
