Sorry but what is the meaning of that? Non-thai here
I’m non Thai as well. Sunset at Choopraya is a novel adapted into movies & lakorns, in Sunset at Choopraya ml is in the Japanese navy in Thailand & always saved & protected the fl. just like Asira did, she’s complimenting him & seeing him as a hero.
Will you please explain further why they throw shade on that movie or drama?
sorry, sunset at choopraya is a novel they adapted into movies & lakorns, in the movie & lakorn( Kobori is in the Japanese Navy& Angsumalin is a Japanese lady who’s patriotic, Kobori was always protecting Angsumalin, he fell in love with Angsumalin. by saying you are Kobori in Sunset at Choopraya is just like Kobori saved (Angsumalin a Thai lady whilst being a Japanese Navy officer during WWII times in Thailand ) Asira saved Fah from the other soilders.
throwing a shade at Sunset a Chooparaya, had a big giggle. Fah calls Asira you’re like Kobori from Sunset at Chooparaya & Asira calling her Ms.Angsumalin lol, only into few mints but their chemistry is steaming hot
if anyone is interested this movie is on yt & has eng subs. it’s not the best quality, it’s 2 hours 13 minutes. if you don’t like sad endings, skip it.
That's the part that I don't get. Like the elders did not learn from the anguish that they themselves have gone…
“Annie had sex with Jak instead of Jack. Her mother will claim that Jak slept with her daughter and now has to marry her. Jack won’t do anything as he’s in love with Noopouk, unless his grandmother forces him or she reveals the truth.”
I actually love this couple, once Jak set his eyes on Noophuk that was it, now he's serenading (well such a romantic guy lol) Jack & Annie are now an unofficial couple, her mother is going to go mental instead of a Dhevaprom son inlaw she's going to have to accept Jack, Jack is not a bad person but a little too naive.
“Returning to this gem after so many years, I’m always amused by the K-drama logic. It took her three months to realize she was pregnant, and nobody questioned the paternity of her baby, as if babies are delivered by storks.” I will update as I watch more episodes
26-year-old Johnny Afone is young and handsome, five years younger than Great was when he played Thip. However, I still prefer Great as Thip; I prefer the mature Johnny Afone. Some of the background music they used in this version is much better than in the 2016 version (I haven't finished watching this yet). For example, at the first party scene, they used "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" (1960), which was almost a 40-year-old song at the time. The instrumental song when Thip first met Nang is "You Are Always on My Mind" by Elvis Presley. I will update as I watch. Comparing it with the new version, the makeup department, wardrobe, and resolution are much better. Watching the 1996 version on YouTube gives me the impression that this lakorn is from the early '60s, but it is not.
Annie. I don’t know what to say about her. She’s clearly unhinged. “Jack & I are an item,” and Jak is keeping his silence. Can’t say since when, or “we are not an item, where did you get the idea?” She’s rude & entitled. Great Grandma is at her old tricks again, wanting Annie as her great daughter-in-law. Ep4 Noopok & Jak are still at the bickering stage. Well, probably the screenwriters are saying, “the night is long, there’s 17 episodes, deal with it LOL.” Now we know Jak against Jack :p Prakan Plawan’s dad has no chance at all. And the Arkom having a crush on Noonoi, I’m roooting them. it’s going to be fun. One other thing I noticed is the drinking habit of the 5 cousins; they’re drinking JD like they’re drinking water 😀. Thank heavens in EP 5 Jak has the guts to confront Annie on what they are, & Annie spills out that everyone is under the impression of them dating. jak finally tells her they’re not an item.. Annie doesn’t look like she’s going to give up on Jak, Ket already understand Jak having a crush on Noopok. Threre will be more misunderstandings in between Jak & Noopok if he doesn’t come clear & tell her, Annie is not his girlfriend & never was.. why is it so difficult?
