I absolutely understand why this is rated so highly despite it choosing the weird option of having narrated dialogue that the actresses don't even pretend to say. From the prior comment, I knew to expect it being a bit spicy but I was still taken by surprise. That entire bit was very well done. I too now wish this was a longer piece.
Pros: there's a fairly complex plot Cons: the plot is much harder to follow if you haven't watched the show it's inspired by. I was able to get the gist of it though. Pro: I do love me a Chinese republican era gl
they both very obviously have a crush on each other? so fairly
looking back on the synopsis, yeah i'd agree. The synopsis makes it sound much more one-sided while the story is more like two awkward dorks try to rekindle their friendship while also misunderstanding literally every sentence the other person says. It's really funny
I love this list. If you want some recs, Love in the Tinder Age and Soshite, Yuriko wa Hitori ni Natta. are both gl adjacent and very fun. Tinder Age is a black comedy revolving around an attempted suicide and Yuriko is p violent and obsessive and features toxic yaoi. Blank might also be a good rec because it's a gl that revolves around a 20 ish year age gap + both the younger one's parents harbored romantic affection for the older woman.
Cons: the plot is much harder to follow if you haven't watched the show it's inspired by. I was able to get the gist of it though.
