Well, looks like the new OCN drama Bad Guys: Age of Evil will be a spin-off series instead of a second season.…
I was hoping for a sequel too. Maybe they will have a cameo appearance, but I agree it won't be the same. However, Park Sung-woong would be excellent if he confirms. I'll post any news I hear.

You hit the nail on the head, lol. Don't think I can hold out and watch later since I've been watching all of OCN's Youtube clips and the cast, story, and directing look excellent.

According to the synopsis, the story is about a collective of thieves that are a thorn-in-the-side of the hidden few that manipulate all of Korea’s politics and economy. Jang Dol-mok (Ji Hyun-woo) runs an office and caters to his clients, while at night he steals from those in power. Kang So-joo (SNSD's Seohyun) portrays a "passionate" police detective. Kim Ji-hoon (The Man Living in Our House), who has yet to confirm, would portray ambitious public prosecutor Han Joo-hee.
"Bad Thief, Good Thief" premieres in mid-May 2017 following "Father, I'll Take Care of You".

Yoon Si-yoon ("Mirror of the Witch") and Kim Min-jae ("Romantic Doctor Kim") cast in new KBS2 drama series “The Best Hit” (literal title). The drama series is directed by Yoo Ho-jin who previously directed Yoon Si-yoon in the popular TV reality-variety show “2 Days & 1 Night.”

In drama series “The Best Hit”, Yoon Si-yoon will play popular idol singer Yoo Hyun-jae, who is known for his scandals, and Kim Min-jae will play struggling singer Lee Ji-hoon. “The Best Hit” first airs May, 2017 in South Korea.

Don't think so. Here's a quote from Dramabeans that should clear up your question.

"Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon, who wrote sageuk hits "Six Flying Dragons" and "Tree With Deep Roots", will be onboard as creators and producers, though they’ll leave the writing to a team of four scriptwriters: Kim Jin-hee of "Alice in Cheongdam-dong", Ryu Moon-sang (Drama Festival’s "Escaping Slavery"), Park Eun-mi (Drama Festival’s "Haneuljae’s Murder"), and Yoo Hye-mi. Directing will be PD Min Jin-ki of "Blue Tower" and SNL Korea".
