Best modern cdrama that I've watched. Before I watched, while checking out the cast I was wondering why Steven Zhang would take a 'second' lead role considering his recent successes. But now that I've finished watching, I wanna say that this is a really smart move for this team -- the role made him display his acting ability. He stood out among the young ones. He was so good as Ziqui, his acting was naturally excellent. I started watching because I kinda like Song Wei Long, undeniably eye-candy, but honestly his acting in here is just OK, Steven Zhang hands-down 'stole the show' for me. Nonetheless, I still smiled every time Song Wei Long smiled. :) Great cast!
I am now on Ep 10 and wanna share that this is so good! So far I love the characters especially the dads! I've shed tears several times already, not because of overly dramatic or tragic scenes but because of somehow the emotions in these not-so-uncommon situations. We can easily put ourselves in their shoes and feel the happiness, hurt, and family love. By the way, great casting for the kids! The boys really match their teen/adult counterparts. Great acting kiddos!
I just finished Ep 5 and to this point, I can't find any redeeming qualities of Parin. I am hating his character more. To me he is just a selfish, violent and abusive person. How can he just pull, hug, kiss, physically hurt someone whenever he feels like? Just because he thinks that he loves her? Because he is in pain? So selfish!!
I'd say great casting for the leads! Th FL looks like a boy (but would have been better with a different lipstick hue), but I also find her prettier in short than long hair. Darren Chen suits the ML character perfectly, his facial expressions were so good -- mischievous, haughty, confident, as well as friendly and super nice when it suits him.
I understand why some skipped the leads -- I did too! The other couples are definitely more entertaining and adorable. Of the 3 guys, the ML is the least interesting and should I say 'weak'. Peach is very attractive and his character showed growth in the course of the series, Pon is just so adorable in this, matching cute, innocent Lorena. I am not a fan of the FL's acting, I feel like she's in a stage and acting in a play.
I'm not liking the synopsis but starting this based on the positive comments. Trusting you guys!
Down to the last episode. I think the plot is too stretched. But execution is good, and acting is commendable. Scenic settings too. But, just this: How can 4 grown strong fighter-trained mafia leaders not physically overcome a petite older woman? I know its lakorn logic, but I just can't with this one!
I laugh every time I watch Thai fighting scenes. There have such loud bone breaking noises but the attackers can…
I'm about to comment this too. Such loud thuds indicating very hard-hitting with bone-breaking sound effects. But then, they just immediately stand up and fight again! Another thing, when firing guns they shoot at relatively short range but cannot hit their targets, why? Too many bullets wasted in Thai lakorns....
This is my first James Ma starrer, he is really cute and manly at the same time. Acting wise, not so impressed in this one. Pop is so handsome and appealing. Like some commenters here, liked Mi and her love story more than that of the main couple's. Though I think they should have shown some scenes of Chaya realizing he loves Mi. Seems to me that he instantly transferred affection when he learned that he is biologically related to Nuth. It is believable that he eventually loved Mi because they do get along well and have helped each other a lot, but I wanted scenes of his realization. Pop is really good with the flirting scenes.
I am also seeing this concept of mistress in many thai drama's... so i got interested and did a research. I learned…
I've watched a few lakorns with rape/sexual assault scenes that are somewhat romanticized or so easily forgiven, I think a couple with Push. I was really shocked and felt quite offended on how they treat the issue. I've also learned and scan through comments first. Glad that this has gradually changed over the years.
I am wondering about how mistresses are treated in Thailand culture. What is their status? How acceptable are mistresses? Are Thai men allowed multiple wives? In this lakorn, seems like wives are 'expected' to accept their husbands' mistresses (also wives?).
I would have preferred that they show more scenes on ML loving the FL for who she is and not because she looks like the Ex whom he loved (even still loves?) and have guilt feelings for. It was just mentioned in passing. There's lingering doubt, does he really love Fahsai or is it still Botan? Another thing I did not like is the illogical actions (I know it's a lakorn, but still just too much) -- she has been threatened, hurt, kidnapped so many times but still would walk alone like nothing is going on? The damsel in distress being saved over and over just gets boring....
I did not really feel the romance much, it was mostly a one-sided love. No or minimal indication that the FL even thinks of him in a romantic way in the first 10 eps or so, then suddenly she loves him too. She seems uncomfortable being romantic with him, even when they were already dating. In general, nothing new or super exciting about the story, but with beautiful sets and scenery. It's the type of drama where you can multi-task -- do what you need to do, just glance once in a while on the screen and you'll still not miss anything much. I agree with most, Nadech looks good with a mustache. :)
