Title Miss in Kiss
Okay so I've watched the first four episodes now and I have to admit this new Taiwanese version is horrible…
It's like the writers think the meaner Zhi Shu is in the beginning, when the flip switches and he loves Yue Qin- that stark contrast between how much he hated her vs how much he loves her will make that love even more touching? But it puts me completely off, he's supposed to be cold and uninterested- not a deliberate bully. I'm not seeing any heart or care put into the production. Just a fast, cheap, way to get viewers because they know the Itakiss story has so many fans. The fact that people think it's worse than the Korean version and it's only just started is an amazing feat. And so soon after the Thai version which is 2nd to worst for me.

Finished the first 3 eps and hmm... First impression, not sure if this adaption will bring anything new to the table. It's already got a steep battle with a classic like ISWAK. Actors/actresses seemed to be picked for looks.

I love movies about friendships between women (especially when they're written/directed by a woman) and this seriously doesn't disappoint. Funny and touching moments about heartbreak and girls that always have each other's backs. I don't think there was a single weak link when it came to the actors. I didn't just enjoy the story, I also enjoyed and anticipated every facial expression and line of dialog because I had faith it would be delivered well. Even if someone doesn't care for the subplots or find bits unrealistic, I feel the entire idea of friendship this movie was portraying was spot on and beautiful. I'm really interested in checking out more by director Barbara Wong. Her vision for this was inspirational to me.

Fast paced, super predictable, with cheesy acting. Everything you'd expect from a fluff movie based off a shojo manga. Not slamming it entirely though. There were some genuinely funny moments, but the whole story is a string of cliches and I couldn't tell if it was trying to be a parody of those cliches or if it was using them for real. If you have enough sense of humor to make fun of what you watch, watch this.
On Boys over Flowers Nov 26, 2014
This drama has some sort of weird addiction/disillusionment effect on people where we /know/ it's ridiculous and corny and some parts are just undeniably /bad/, but we still can't help but love it and know a part of us will always love it, no matter how much shame we feel for admitting so.

This was the first kdrama I ever watched and my drama standards have gotten better since, but there's nothing like Boys Over Flowers. There's nothing like listening to the OST and feeling everything you felt while watching it that first time. It revolutionized dramas. It's just classic.

It has a really lovely soundtrack and beautiful ocean scenes. Other than that, I agree with hyeongy. Sometimes slow plots and silence can add to a movie, but this ended up being so vague, at times, I couldn't understand what was happening because it seemed like nothing was happening? I think the director tried too hard to make it unconventional.

So completely disturbing. I have no idea why it's considered romantic and like a Japanese classic. I've never said "wtf?" so much while watching something, in my life. Nothing makes sense! The ending is a completely cheap ploy to get us to care and cry and find it "tragically beautiful", which is why people keep watching it.
