Bas and Fuiaz being a coupling came as a huge surprise. . Also that sex scene was like watching pornhub I'm not…
it caught me off guard as well but honestly i don't think they'll stay as a couple because in the trailer there was like a 1 second scene of Fuaiz and JJay kissing
a lot of entertainment bans in China aren't based on any actual laws and homosexuality isn't illegal over there…
I'd say socially and culturally chinese people are more neutral towards homosexuality than you might think but the government definitely dislikes it. That's why they want it out of mainstream while simultaneously not doing anything legally about it because that'd be going too far and they'd be disregarding the law they themselves have put into place back in the 1990s.
You're kinda right about c-ent not abiding by laws. What a lot of international fans fail to realise is that there are a lot of rich assholes with influence who control which projects and actors get supported and which ones get sabotaged. Unfortunately productions like this one are easy targets because they don't have the power to fight them.
Regarding Zhang Zhenan, simply going to Japan and visiting historical sites isn't going to get anyone in trouble but that's not what he did. He had visited and took pictures at the shrine dedicated to japanese war generals who committed atrocities in China during the 2nd world war so to cnetz that meant that he either doesn't know his own country's history or doesn't care about the crimes that were committed. Also, from what i remember he didn't get banned by the government/NRTA it's just that the people in the industry refuse to work with him now because he's deemed too controversial and casting him would lead to heavy backlash.
i have a question: since this is clearly marketed as a BL drama and they circumvent the c-ent restrictions and…

i thought it was Bas and Job on the sofa because that's what ppl were saying but i guess not
