i was not expecting to shed so many tears these last couple episodes, like holy moly it felt like i was watching a whole other series with how tragic and heartbreaking everything was in just these 2 eps ._.
this drama had so many plot twists it made my head spin but I was too invested in it to drop it lol
also I thought the ending was a suitable one + the killers/accomplices had fitting outcomes given the natures of their situations i.e. Sunghoon with the life sentence and Yoonjae dying with Moonkang after their knife fight (altho not quite sure why Charles had to go RJ style in his sushi restuarant but hey ride or die) all three needed a way to repent for their actions
as much as I cringe at the bgm for certain scenes *cough* nc scenes *cough*, I will always love the opening intro music to both story arcs where I'll be smiling like fool
God i'm so in love with the friends that both Cake and Eiw have. It's so reassuring to see both sides having such good support systems whenever they're upset or in trouble.
my jaw dropped when sky's ex and friend literally just walked right up in front of pai and payu like HOLDUP THEY ALL KNOW EACH OTHER?!? WHAT IN THE PLOT TWISTS
I see some people saying the pre-timeskip part took up too large a part in this series, but I believe it's specifically the whole buildup from ep1 to 8 that contributed to how emotional Cake's leave was. We were given a look into their everyday lives, from the moment they wake up, to what they do at school, to getting home and turning off their lights. And they specifically repeat this routine throughout the episodes too. The series wanted us to become emotionally attached to the characters and to get used to their everyday routine just like how they are themselves ........just so that it'd be all the more heartwrenching for when THAT goodbye scene came in ep9 and we suddenly see a change with Eiw in his life. With no Cake beside him.
So no, I think they allocated a reasonable amount of time toward their pre-timeskip story. If it'd ended any earlier, I feel the "jump" would not have been as impactful as it was.
