I think you can recommend this. Honestly this is the only historycal kdrama in mywatchlist, and I'm into manhwas too btw. I haven't make this in my completed watched list just because I've actually see some of the spoiler and I don't have the time yet to binge watch it (because the story is not light and need my brain to works :D)
But if you prefer light story, I recommend Love in the Moonlight, knowing that your friend is first kdrama watcher, the rating is good too in MDL, so I think lot of people like it too.
Thank you for this review. May be some people are mature enough to differentiate the misleading in the drama. What I'm afraid is (and actually I'm not obliged to it) some people who're still young and still in their growth of psychology take the wrong insight from the drama alone.
Even up till now, I always try to find the meaning of life too whether it from books, video, movie, people around me or even from comic books.
May be you can check this out and if you interested to give it a try, my suggestion is stop quickly when you feels danger and let your imagination to give the ending :D. Because the early episode is so worth watching just like this start up.

It will be great if you could make a review and your pov about the drama that I dearly and can't get over yet till now. But I'm worried if it left you a scar because it's mostly like this set up in start up. Strong characterization, good start, mature audience, very close to reality (very very very close), great cinematography, great performance of the actor with the micro expression that you've mention in comment section, but yeah got the bad ending and not logic at the end. I believe I often mention this too in the comment section :D
What it make me speechless is the writer clearly mention in some article that she wants the ending that close to reality but I can't relate to it. It could have been the best drama of 2020 (as for me) but it ruined in the end.

Honestly I am biased too at first. I've been following the sequel of dmbj series before I knew ZhuyiLong (I start become a fan of him around the beginning of 2020), but I have better understanding about wu xie 's character from his portrayal (we both knew for sure how he always studying his character), and that's the beginning of me become a fan of Wu xie, the character itself :D. btw glad to see zyl fan and nice to meet you :D

To those of you who fight for truth and justice, I'd like to say I support you. You did the right thing. as a person who enjoys drama and movies, not only as entertainment but also take the message contained in it. so that future writers or anyone who makes a public work, so as not to underestimate the basic norms in society.
I learned from the past when I didn't understand the consequences of the author's morally incorrect delivery (I've found 1 actually and it frustates me because the actor that I dear so much got overshadowed with the bad storyline), making me as a viewer feel frustrated and depressed and it took a long to recover.
I hope that in these difficult times we can still voice the truth and dare to reveal that the wrong is wrong and the right one is right. love you guys
