Dude, the lottery. This is bugging so much after episode 3 where he shows he is willing to die who knows how many times for this girl's money. At this point money is still his entire motivation, pisses me off seeing his smug f-ing face at the end episode thinking that he's got this brilliant plan to get rich. The lottery man, horse races, stock market, all of the above, go to the states to win the powerball that's 10 billion right there. The homeless guys even mentioned this earlier too that he should give them the lotto numbers or something. I can't get over it, I know it's necessary for the sake of the plot, but I still hate it.
Great stuff so far, very funny. The one thing it can do without is Joon Ho's romance, Joon Ho's character in general is really boring and feels unnecessary in my opinion. I also enjoy this as a huge baseball fan, neat to hear mentions of some real players and news in a drama.
Kim Chang Man really ruined this for me, I wanted to keep watching because the rest of the characters were great for the most part, but I couldn't put up with the lead being such an annoying busybody, not something I am willing to deal with for 50 episodes.
Definitely prefer the Japanese version, much funnier.
The male lead is quite different in the two dramas, in this remake he isn't the way he is by choice, he's definitely on the autism spectrum and it feels too pitiful and awkward to be truly funny. In the original Japanese drama the lead is eccentric for sure but it's by choice, he's just a weird guy who is also kind of an asshole at times and it definitely makes for a far more amusing character, to me anyway.
As for the drama as a whole the Japanese version, as is often the case, is a lot less dramatic, it's mostly just a comedic slice of life. They did shove in the relationship pretty much entirely into the final episode which I feel they should have done without, really did not fit well with the rest of the drama. Korean version has a much heavier focus on romance. I can enjoy a good romance but the relationship here was unconvincing to me with the main character being who he is, and the lead actress' acting felt off also.
I feel like there's a lot of directions they could have gone with this premise, it's an interesting concept. They chose to go with a sweet feel-good romance in this film and it was executed well, very charming.
Ugh, horrible. It started off well and very funny but then it just got cliche as hell. When they hit me with the king of cliches, selective amnesia, I couldn't drop it fast enough. I was barely hanging on for the comedic moments but I was already getting very tired mainly due to the annoying love triangle with the 2nd lead always there at the perfect moment and saying the perfect things to piss me off when he has no idea what's actually going on with the main couple and their feelings. I know the deadly illness plot was lurking around the corner also, and there's some birth secrets around and I'm sure plenty more cliches to come.
It was great as a fun romantic comedy, and the lead actors are excellent and well suited for their roles, but it just became far too cliche and was becoming a sadness roller coaster that I wanted absolutely no part of.
Loved the laugh though, made me laugh with him every time.
Excellent until episode 4, one of the funniest drama I've seen to that point. But it went quickly downhill from there, losing the great comedy and becoming far too angsty and melodramatic. Ended up skipping the last 3 episodes and just caught the horrendous ending.
I saw it all coming from the reviews and comments, knew it would turn to shit so I did not go in with high expectations and knew not to get attached to the story or any of the characters. So I still give this a fine 7/10 because of how much I enjoyed the first few episodes, it was worth the watch for me.
It was alright. Can't say either of the romance pairings really drew me in, goblin and bride was particularly stale to me, but I feel that they did get better chemistry as the drama progressed at least, but still a boring romance. Favorite part of this drama was definitely the relationship between goblin and reaper mostly in the earlier episodes.
Agree with what everyone else is saying. This isn't good at all so far, not funny, lead girl is incredibly obnoxious, 2nd lead guy is an ass. It's kind of ridiculous how the lead girl thinks that all these guys with the dark clothes and black cap are somehow different people even though she's seen them all plenty and they look and act exactly the same, the motorcycle scene at the end of ep 2 dragged and makes little sense, main leads attraction to the obnoxious girl I find hard to understand. Also the camera angle changes too often, and many scenes are far more dramatic than they should be. And it seems like this will be far more angsty than I'm looking for in a romantic comedy.
Really wish secretary were the lead girl, but she's not even the 2nd lead. She and CEO would have made an amusing couple I think.
I'll watch again next week just because tvn is usually good, but I have almost no expectations left. From what I saw in the preview episode, some of the secondary characters look like they could be fun, Ji Won's and Jeong Min's characters, and miss secretary, so they might be worth watching on the team together for the new project, some potential humor there is the hope I have left for this.
It was great as a comedy for the first half but then it became full drama and went downhill. Lead actor is a funny guy, great facial expressions, wish he had more comedic roles.
Pretty underwhelming. Ending was abrupt and left too many questions, romance was just ok, fight scenes were silly, you would think someone would have a weapon other than the guy with a yo-yo.
The first few episodes were excellent and very funny, after that it was just ok. The romance was not executed well, probably could have done without it, the ending was sweet though.
chingu, where can i watch this with eng sub? dramanice.to not available, Viki content not available in my region…
try a vpn/proxy to use viki. Best free one I can suggest is the browser Opera, comes with built in VPN options, should work.
Anyway, it's pretty interesting so far, though the whole situation seems to be getting more and more complicated, hopefully the producers know a clear direction because this could easily turn into a mess. I definitely prefer the scenes with the playboy guy, he's a much more fun personality, though he's an idiot sometimes which can be frustrating. Chef guy present day scenes are kind of boring really, don't like present day girl either.
