Don't know what you think about it guys, but I have a funny theory about the ending.
I think Tong Xing was supposed to have really been killed by Professor Fang. Why do I think that? Because the actor Lin Geng Xin doesn't seem to have been part of the filming of everything that happen after his character's stabbing.
Summary of the facts: when Tong Xing reappears after having been stabbed, we only have close-up of Lin Geng Xin's face. Same close-up that are re-used multiple times and are obviously out-of-context. And while Tong Xing is fighting against the minions and beating the crap out of his grandpa at heart, it's only full shots of him and from the back. We never distinctly see his face. I tried to slow down the movie and I highly suspect that it's a different actor because he doesn't even look alike Lin Geng Xin. Even in the last scene, when Tong Xing and his mom visit the tomb of Tong Tie, we don't see his face. I mean, he is the ML after all.
Maybe the producers had a change of heart at some point and either they've scrapped the initial mysterious real ending filmed with Lin Geng Xin as a very much alive Tong Xing or either Tong Xing was supposed to be dead, period.
The subs are incomprehensible... It's a shame cause I really wanted to watch this. I thought the subject (debate) is a change from what we're used to seeing. Too bad...
