Saw that too. 12-16eps will work for modern dramas but it's a terrible move for costume dramas especially xianxias.
yeah 16 eps 1 hour would work for moderns, but noy costumes, gonna begin the drama and already half way through the plot like smh

now seriously these broadcasting rumours are getting outta hand, 🍉 LOTDT will air during the Spring Festival (rumours state end of Jan --> early February), but another drama by iQiyi/Youku is also rumoured for early February, i don't know what to believe anymore 😭
